First Grade
Authentic Research
While deciding on a topic we discovered an issue that concerns the first graders and we have written a speech, videoed the speech, and sent it to the student council to see if they can help us.
We have been learning new ways to think creatively. One way to come up with new ideas or ways to improve an idea or product is to use a technique called SCAMPER.

Third Grade
This week students evaluated the importance of Bernoulli's principle to the modern invention of airplanes.
In 1738, an Italian physicist named Daniel Bernoulli discovered that water and air move faster over curved surfaces than they do over flat ones. He also discovered that as the air or water moved faster, the pressure exerted by the fluid decreased. This critical discovery, known as Bernoulli's principle, paved the way for modern airplanes.
Fourth Grade
After reviewing the SCAMPER technique fourth-grade students were presented with a problem.
Currently, your pumpkin patch is not making a profit and may need to lay off workers if sales do not increase. In an effort to help raise revenue, you need to form design teams to create new SCAMPERed pumpkin ideas. Teams will use their knowledge of SCAMPER to imagine, plan, and sketch a new original design using at least 3 SCAMPER techniques that will help the company sell more product and make more money.
Students created a new product and are currently designing a commercial to sell their products.
Fifth Grade
Fifth Graders have been thinking about the answers to these questions:
How do challenges affect our growth?
What impacts our mindset?
In what ways can the idea of YET impact our current mindset and growth?
Students have identified personal strengths and weaknesses and are using this information to set goals.
Fifth graders are ready to present their goal for the year. They have designed a slideshow and practiced good presentation skills. Ask them to share their presentation with you!
