October Lifeline: Teamwork
"I am a helpful and contributing group and team member, and feel responsible for helping the team reach its goals."
What is Teamwork?
Teamwork means helping and caring for others so the whole group can succeed—whether that’s your class, your family, a sports team, or your friends. When you show teamwork, you do your part, try your best, and look out for the people around you. Good teammates are reliable, kind, and willing to work together to make things better for everyone.
Dear Boone Meadow Families -
What a wonderful time of year at Boone Meadow! As we head into the weekend, we have so much to celebrate and so much to look forward to in the weeks ahead.
A HUGE shout-out to our amazing PTO and volunteers for their tremendous support of our students and staff! From helping make our Jog-A-Thon celebration a success to bringing our upcoming Literati Book Fair to life, your generosity and partnership make such a difference. Thanks to our incredible community, we reached our Jog-A-Thon goal, and every classroom had a celebration party and every student received a small gift of appreciation to celebrate their part in making it happen. We are so grateful for the way our Meadow community comes together for kids!
As we look ahead to next week, here are a few important reminders and exciting events:
- Daylight Saving Time Reminder: Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour before heading to bed Saturday night! Enjoy that extra hour of sleep as we fall back!
- Book Fair - November 2–6: Our Literati Book Fair is almost here! Today was preview day plus students will have opportunities to visit with their classes throughout the week, and families can shop during Family Conference Day on Thursday, November 5. You can also explore the online fair here: Shop the Online Book Fair. Thank you to our PTO and volunteers for making this special experience possible!
- Family Conferences - November 4–5: We look forward to connecting with families, celebrating student growth, and strengthening our home-school partnerships. If you haven't already, be sure to check your teacher's communication for conference details.
- Thursday, November 5 - eDay: All elementary students will participate in an eDay on Thursday. Teachers will share information and access to the learning modules students should complete at home, so please watch for classroom communications. Modules will go live for family/student access the day before on Wednesday, November 4th.
- Student Council Food Drive: Our Student Council is leading a food drive next week! This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to put our Life Goals into action by treating people right, doing the right thing, and caring for others in our community. Watch for additional information about how your family can participate!
- Veterans Day Program - November 11, 9:30–10:15 a.m.: We look forward to honoring the brave men and women who have served our country. We welcome veteran guests and their guests, along with parents/guardians and grandparents of our third- and fourth-grade students. Due to space limitations, we are unable to accommodate additional extended family members. Thank you for helping us create a meaningful experience for our honored guests! Please review the program information and registration details shared by the school. All pre-registrations for guests should be completed by end of day, November 4th.
- Wellness/STEM Family Night - November 19, 5:30–7:00 p.m.: Mark your calendars for an evening of hands-on fun, discovery, and learning for the whole family. We can't wait to see you there!
- A Halloween Weekend Reminder: If your family is celebrating Halloween this weekend, have fun, make some great memories, and please be safe!
Thank you for being such an important part of our community. We are grateful for the partnership, encouragement, and care you bring to our school each day. Together, we continue to build a community where Everyone Belongs Here!
Have a wonderful weekend, and we look forward to another great week at BME!

Visitors and Volunteers
During the school day, all visitors and volunteers are expected to check in at the front office. Prior to the volunteer's first volunteer experience, the individual must sign a Non-disclosure Acknowledgement Form and have successfully completed a Full Criminal History Background Check..
Necessary background check paperwork is available on the ZCS website at the Volunteers/BRAVO link and should be submitted at least 10 days before the intended volunteer date. Volunteers must also view the state-mandated confidentiality/bullying video, provided on the Volunteer/BRAVO website. The volunteer will pay the fee for the full background check which will expire after 5 years.
During the school day, all visitors must enter via the front door and sign in at the front office. Visitors need to be prepared to present a government-issued photo ID which will be scanned against the National Sex Offender Registry.
