Message from the Assistant Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Well, we’ve officially made it to the third school week of January. The weather is cold enough to make you question every decision you've ever made about leaving the house, and yet, here we are, bravely marching through winter together.
At this point, the only thing warmer than the classroom is the stack of hot cocoa mugs we dream about every morning. But fear not! While we may be battling frostbite and the temptation to hibernate until spring, we’ve still got a lot of great things happening here at school. Our students are learning, growing, and proving that they are stronger than any cold fronts!
This time of year can be tough for all of us, and it’s easy to start feeling like we’re running on fumes (and possibly a bit of frozen caffeine), but let’s keep our spirits high. We’ve got a lot of exciting things to look forward to this semester, and we know that with a little motivation, a lot of teamwork, and maybe a handful of extra mittens, we’ll make it through this winter—and come out the other side ready for sunshine, warmth, and hopefully a day or two of not needing a parka just to walk to the car.
So, as we gear up for the rest of January and beyond, let’s continue to encourage our students (and each other) to stay focused, stay positive, and above all—stay warm!
We’ve got this. Together. (And maybe with a few extra layers). Have you seen me on drop-off duty? 🥶
Go Pirates!
Yours in winter survival,
Tamara Carter
Assistant Principal

#5: 🍪 Update from the School Board
Important Update to our Cell Phone Policy
As we begin the new semester, we want to share an update to our cell phone policy aimed at reducing distractions and maintaining a focus on learning. Effective immediately:
- Cell phones will not be allowed during passing periods.
- Cell phones may only be used during lunch.
- When asking to leave the classroom (e.g., for restroom use), students will be asked to verify their phone is left in the classroom.
These updates align with our commitment to promoting student engagement, safety, and responsibility. We appreciate your support in reinforcing these expectations with your student at home.
Thank you for partnering with us to create an environment where all Pirates can thrive!
Attached below is the updated and approved policy (12/16/2024).
