Are you First Day Ready?
Dear Altamont Creek Families,
We are SO excited to welcome your children back onto campus Tuesday, August 13th! We would like to share some ways to be "first day ready:"
-Gate to the blacktop will open at 8:20AM. At 8:27AM the bell rings. Students & families may all walk to their classroom door.
STARTING WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 14TH: At 8:27AM the bell rings. Grades TK/K will line up on the blacktop in their designated spot. Students in Grades 1-5 will walk straight to their classroom. We will have a lot of staff out on the whitetop to ensure your children make it to the right class.
-Make sure your child knows where their classroom is located. Below you will find a site map.
-Have a "pick up location." We are HIGHLY encouraging walkers/bikers. If you are picking up your child in the drive through, please stay in your car and continue forward until you see your child. Do NOT park in the drive through.
-Bring snack & reusable water bottle.
-No recess equipment/balls from home. We have plenty of options for students at recess.
Together we will make this year GREAT!!

Sincerely,
Andrea Tapia

Updated COVID Protocols
Since the onset of COVID-19, our district has always followed the K-12 COVID-19 school protocols guidance put forth by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), and as such, we wanted to inform you of this most recent change.
Starting this 2024-25 school year, the CDPH has discontinued its school-specific COVID-19 guidance. COVID-19 is now categorized amongst other respiratory viruses, such as influenza (flu) and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), with common illness management and prevention strategies. The CDPH website provides additional information on respiratory viruses and links to resources from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) on prevention strategies. Note: Those who have health conditions that put them at higher risk should take extra precautions to stay healthy.
Our district’s Illness Exclusion Protocols are available on our website and outline more severe and contagious symptoms that should keep a student home from school. While we know the importance of school attendance on student learning and achievement, students who are sick should stay home and return when symptoms are improving or have subsided. You know your child best; as an educational partner, we just ask that you inform your school site if and when your child will not be at school.
Our Health Services team is a great resource for questions about illnesses and other health related concerns. Contact your school site to get connected to one of our school nurses or health technicians.
Drop Off/ Pick Up Procedures
Drop Off
- The school gates will open at 8:15AM.
- Families are invited onto the blacktop to stay with their child until the bell rings. Families are encouraged to walk the track. Playground and equipment will not be available.
- At 8:27AM the bell rings. Grades TK/K will line up. Students in Grades 1-5 will walk straight to their classroom.
In an effort to increase efficiency of drop off we have several options for families!
1 – Bike Riders/Scooter Riders – Please remind your Wildcats to ALWAYS walk their bike/scooter when they arrive on campus. They may safely keep their bikes/scooters in the bike park area in front of the school.
2 – Walkers/Walking Buses – We HIGHLY encourage our students to walk to school. It promotes health and is great for our environment. Please arrange a meeting space to meet your child after school. The field is a great place to quickly meet your Wildcat right after school.
3 – Valet - We will have ONE valet drop off lane.
******ALL CARS ENTERING ACE MUST TURN RIGHT INTO THE PARKING LOT – NO LEFT TURNS!******
After you pull into the driveway, stay on the inside lane and safely pull all the way forward. Once the car has safely stopped, your child may exit through the passenger side and onto the sidewalk. They will walk toward the big gates and enter the blacktop until the 8:27AM bell.
