A Standing Ovation for Legally Blonde: The Musical

Join us as we give a standing ovation for Legally Blonde: The Musical! 👏👏👏 Kudos to our students and our staff, Ms. Roedts, Ms. Anderson, Mr. McIntosh, Mr. Ranaglia, Ms. Suruskie and Ms. Clemens, who dedicated countless hours bringing the Steelton-Highspire Theater Company to life!

From April 5–7, audiences were swept away by a dazzling performance of Legally Blonde: The Musical—a vibrant, high-energy production that had everyone talking!

With 238 tickets sold, the theater was filled each night with fans eager to follow Elle Woods’s empowering and hilarious journey. The story came to life through the incredible efforts of 18 talented cast members, who brought heart, humor, and charisma to every role.

Behind the scenes, the magic was made possible by a devoted team of 11 crew members, 10 volunteers, and 6 production staff, all working together to ensure flawless lighting, sound, costumes, and set design. Their behind-the-scenes brilliance allowed every scene to shine.

Over three unforgettable nights, the cast and crew delivered a performance full of laughs, emotion, and inspiring moments. From the catchy opener “Omigod You Guys” to Elle’s triumphant finale, the show radiated passion and left a lasting impression on everyone in the audience.

Though the run was short, the memories made will linger. This production proved that with dedication, teamwork, and a lot of pink, anything is possible on stage.

Celebrating Our Seniors: A Final Bow in Legally Blonde: The Musical

As Legally Blonde: The Musical wrapped its unforgettable run from April 5–7, we want to shine a spotlight on the incredible senior students whose talent, leadership, and dedication helped make the production such a success. Their impact—both on stage and behind the scenes—will be remembered for years to come.

Marcedes "Marty" Allen (Vivienne)
Marcedes brought Vivienne to life with grace, nuance, and emotional depth. Her transformation from Elle’s rival to ally was both powerful and memorable. Marcedes’ dedication to her role lit up the stage in every scene she was in.

Bryona "H.R." Hayes-Roberts (Enid)
Bryona infused the role of Enid with fierce energy and confidence. Her sharp wit and commanding presence added a bold layer to the ensemble, and her passion for the role came through in every moment.

Kennedy Matthews (Paulette)
Kennedy stole hearts with her portrayal of Paulette, capturing the character’s humor, strength, and vulnerability with charm and authenticity. Her performance was a standout, making Paulette one of the show’s most beloved characters.

Oliver Sundberg (Lighting Crew)
Behind the scenes, Oliver played a crucial role in crafting the visual magic of the show. His lighting work set the tone and spotlighted key moments, helping to immerse the audience in Elle’s world.

Zaniyah "Koda" Williams (Assistant Stage Manager)
Koda kept everything running smoothly with her sharp organization and steady leadership. As Assistant Stage Manager, her behind-the-scenes contributions ensured a seamless production from start to finish.

These seniors have made their mark on our theater program, and their passion, creativity, and hard work won’t soon be forgotten. As they move on to new adventures, we know they’ll continue to shine wherever their paths take them.

Thank you, Marcedes, Bryona, Kennedy, Oliver, and Koda—you’ve left a legacy that will inspire future casts and crews for years to come. You will be deeply missed! 💗🎭

Student Government Gains Fresh Ideas at Regional Conference

On Friday, April 4th, five Student Government members, under the leadership of Ms. Baker, attended the annual Pennsylvania Association of Student Councils (PASC) Region F Conference at Cedar Crest High School. They had the opportunity to collaborate with other student councils, hear inspiring stories from fellow student leaders, vote for the new Region F representative, and return with fresh ideas to bring back to our school!

Pictured from left to right: Cain C., Lonique M., Tannaya F., Brianna B., and Olivia C.

Ready for Liftoff: Student-Built Rockets Take Flight!

Ms. Moll’s gifted students, Aubriella S. and Leah G., recently took their learning to new heights—literally! The two designed, built, and successfully launched their very own rockets as part of an exciting hands-on STEM project. The experience gave them a chance to explore the principles of aerodynamics and engineering through real-world experimentation. Great work!

Chemistry in Action: Creating a Collaborative Periodic Table

Students in Mrs. Dietz’s 11th and 12th grade physical sciences classes teamed up to bring the periodic table to life! As part of their periodic table unit, each class was divided into small groups, with each group assigned a specific group, series, or section of elements. They researched their assigned elements and discovered interesting facts about their properties or industrial uses to share. The result? A collaborative, student-built periodic table packed with chemistry knowledge!

February Students of the Month

Congratulations to our February Students of the Month!

These individuals have consistently demonstrated what it means to show Roller PRIDE—carrying themselves with **Positive Attitude, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Excellence.

We are proud of their accomplishments and look forward to their continued success and leadership in our school community.

STEM Night Goes Green for Earth Day! 🌍💡

At our Earth Day-themed Elementary STEM Night, students and families came together to celebrate our planet through a series of hands-on, environmentally focused activities. The event featured a range of interactive stations, including building trees and Earth models out of Legos, demonstrating paper recycling with playdough, and crafting bracelets from repurposed plastic bags.

Among the most popular stations were those highlighting computer science and robotics. Students used the Code.org platform to program an AI robot designed to clean up ocean trash, giving them a fun and meaningful introduction to coding.Another standout activity involved Sphero robots, where students programmed the robots to create Earth-themed artwork—blending technology and creativity. At a separate station, participants coded Ozobots to navigate paths toward proper recycling and waste bins, reinforcing environmental responsibility through play.

Fifth and sixth graders were also invited to take part in an exciting design challenge: to invent a device that could remove pollution from the ocean. The entries were both innovative and thoughtful, reflecting impressive creativity and problem-solving skills. Winners received gift cards, generously provided by The McInroy-Sheffer People Trust.

Overall, Earth Day STEM Night was a tremendous success—fostering creativity, environmental awareness, and a love of STEM, all while strengthening connections within our school community.
