Hello PCK Families,

As we begin the final stretch of the school year, we’re pleased to share our middle-of-year (MOY) data from the December MAP Growth assessment.

For those unfamiliar, MAP Growth is a national K-8 assessment that measures individual student progress over time. It is one of several data points we use to evaluate the effectiveness of our instruction and ensure students are progressing toward their academic goals. Rather than reducing students to a single score, MAP helps us better understand growth, achievement, and areas of need.

This year’s MOY results are unlike anything PCK has seen before. Our students have significantly exceeded both growth and achievement projections. The graphs below reflect our MAP data over the past three years. “Growth” measures how much a student has improved compared to prior performance, while “achievement” reflects a student’s overall score.

PCK middle of year data for both reading and math
zoom_out_map Show in original size

For context, the national average for both growth and achievement is set at the 50th percentile. PCK students are performing well above that benchmark, with growth at 90% and achievement at or above 80% in both math and reading. In practical terms, this means our students are progressing nearly a full year ahead of national averages.

These results highlight the meaningful gains our students are making and reflect the strength of our program, the dedication of our teachers, and the partnership of our families. Most importantly, they affirm that our approach is working, producing unprecedented results, and positioning students for continued success.

When our community unites around the shared goal of student achievement, the results are extraordinary. Thank you for choosing PCK and for partnering with us to support your students in reaching exceptional heights.

Warmly,

Dr. Weyman

Hello PCK Families,

In this week’s newsletter, I wanted to go over some carpool information, as I have received several questions regarding the drop-off and pick-up process.

Drop-Off:

  • Drop-off begins at 7:35 a.m. Due to the lack of supervision outside the school prior to 7:35 a.m., students should not be dropped off before that time.
  • Please ensure students are ready to exit the vehicle when you reach the drop-off area so the carpool line continues to move efficiently.

Pick-Up:

  • Pick-up begins at 3:10 p.m. for Wave 1, 3:20 p.m. for Wave 2, and 3:30 p.m. for Wave 3.
  • Vehicles may begin lining up at 3:05 p.m. in the turn-only lane traveling southbound on Pine Drive to make a right turn into the school. Prior to 3:05 p.m., vehicles must be parked legally in another location.
  • This guideline also applies to the turn-only lane traveling northbound on Pine Drive to make a left turn into the school.

If you are waiting in the neighborhood behind the school, please ensure you follow these parking regulations:

  • Do not park within 5 feet of a public or private driveway.
  • Do not park within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.
  • Do not park within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection.
  • Do not park in any area designated “No Parking.”
  • Do not impede a lane of travel, driveway or any type of roadway or neighborhood.

Stay safe.

Deputy Castillo

One of PCK’s middle school students has earned the opportunity to advance to the Colorado State Spelling Bee.

Advik Akula represented PCK at the DCSD Spelling Bee, where he competed against 67 of the top spellers from schools across the district. After an impressive performance, Advik placed third, securing his spot at the Colorado State Spelling Bee in early March.

CMAS Snacks CMAS Snacks

We’re once again seeking donations to help provide snacks for our students during the upcoming CMAS testing window. To make sure every student has a snack during their testing period, we still need 90 boxes of individually wrapped snacks (24 per box).

CMAS is an important assessment for our school, as it helps us measure student academic progress. Research consistently shows that hunger can make it harder for students to focus and regulate their emotions, which may negatively impact both their learning experience and their performance on assessments.

If you’d like to support our students during this important time, please consider signing up to donate using the button below. Your generosity helps ensure every student has the fuel they need to do their best.

Messaging Messaging

We have recently experienced an increase in reports of Infinite Campus messages being routed to families’ spam folders. DCSD is aware of the issue and is actively working to address it.

In the meantime, we ask that families please add our Infinite Campus email address, noreply_ic@dcsdk12.org, to their email safe sender list or whitelist. Doing so will help ensure that important communications are delivered to your inbox in a timely manner and that you do not miss class-specific updates from your student’s teacher.

If your student's teacher communicates directly through email or Seesaw, then no action is required at this time. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue.

We would like to inform all families that the Late Testing Lab will be cancelled on Monday, February 23, and Friday, February 27.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If your student intends to go to Late Testing Lab on these days, they should be picked up at their regular carpool time.

Grade level competition for the Foundation is back for this year's Auction + Palooza
zoom_out_map Show in original size

We are excited to share an update to this year’s Grade Level Competition for the PCK Palooza & Auction!

In past years, competition has focused on which grade-level basket raised the most money. While fun, this sometimes limited our ability to strategically place donations in ways that maximize fundraising for our school.

This year, we are shifting to a more transparent and impact-driven approach.

The grade that contributes the highest total declared Fair Market Value (FMV) in auction donations will win the grade-level prize.

Here’s what that means:

  • Every auction item (travel packages, experiences, gift cards, tangible items etc.) donated by a family in your grade counts
  • Business donations secured by your grade count
  • Credit is based on declared fair market value at the time of donation

The Foundation retains final discretion on auction placement to ensure each donation raises the highest possible amount for PCK. Items may be bundled or featured independently—but your grade will still receive full FMV credit toward the competition total.

This allows us to:

  • Maximize fundraising impact
  • Keep the competition fair and transparent
  • Encourage high-value and creative donations

All donations must be submitted by March 13, 2026.

We can’t wait to see the creativity and generosity of our PCK families. Let’s make this our most impactful auction yet!

With gratitude,

The Foundation at PCK

Our next meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 11 at 8:15 a.m. This meeting will have a virtual option, which can be found in the newsletter the week before this meeting.

We warmly invite the PCK community to join us for an opportunity to engage with our team and learn more about the vital role we play within Parker Core Knowledge.

The SAC serves an essential function by providing accountability in an advisory capacity. Our purpose is to inform, encourage, and create opportunities for parents or guardians to engage meaningfully with the school's performance, budget and improvement plans.

For this week’s Volunteer Spotlight, we are proud to recognize the incredible volunteers who helped organize and host our classroom Valentine’s Day parties. These celebrations give students a meaningful opportunity to show appreciation for one another, build new friendships, and strengthen the sense of community that makes our school so special.
