Ridgeline School Tours - Tuesday, February 17

Lottery season is here! Please share with any interested friends or family.

Lottery information & tours sign ups are available on our website. We will host one more guided school tour next week:

  • K–3 Tour: Tuesday, February 17, 5–6pm

Applications Dates:

  • Lottery applications for the 2026–27 school year are open and posted on our website.

  • The application deadline is February 22 at 11:59pm.

  • All available seats are filled through this process, which is independent of the 4J School of Choice lottery.

Thank you for partnering with us to help families learn about public school options.

Cough Drops Reminder

We know there has been quite a bit of illness going around, and sometimes that lingering cough can stick around even after students are feeling better. Cough drops can provide helpful relief during the school day, and we’d like to share a reminder about our school policy, per the guidance of our nurse consultant:

  • Cough drops must be kept in the front office.

  • Parents/guardians must complete a Medical Authorization Form.

  • Please provide the cough drops to the office in a bag clearly labeled with your student’s name.

When a student needs a cough drop, they may come to the office, and we will provide one.

Please note: If teachers or assistants find cough drops in a student’s backpack, they will send them to the office, and we will contact home to review the policy. At that time, we can arrange for a parent/guardian to complete the Medical Authorization Form.

Thank you for your partnership in helping us keep students safe and comfortable during the school day.

✨💃Middle School Dance! ✨

Get ready to light up the night! On Friday, February 13, from 6:30–8:30 PM, Ridgeline Middle School students are taking over the gym—and the theme is GLOW PARTY! 🌈

Wear your brightest neon or glow-in-the-dark outfits, and feel free to bring any glow-in-the-dark accessories to shine on the dance floor. We’ll have glow and neon themed decorations, fun music, and snacks to keep the energy high all night long! 🎶✨

Important reminder: This dance is for Ridgeline 7th & 8th graders only. Students from other schools are not able to attend.

Grab your glow gear and get ready for a fun, unforgettable night with friends! 🌟

Ridgeline School Counselor Highlight

I’m Ridgeline’s school counselor, Jon Talebreza-May, and I support the social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of all students in grades K–8. I provide schoolwide support for our community, while also offering more targeted support for students who benefit from regular check-ins, skill-building lessons, and support during emerging situations. If you have a social-emotional concern about your child, I welcome you to reach out.

  • For non-urgent concerns, emailing jon.talebreza-may@ridgeline.org is the best first step, so I can understand what you’re seeing and follow up as soon as possible.

  • For urgent or same-day safety concerns, please contact the front office to help connect you to the best resource.

My goal is to ensure every child feels safe, connected, and equipped with the skills they need to thrive at school.

Volunteering - What You Need to Know

Volunteers are an essential part of the Ridgeline community, and there are many ways to get involved!

  • From serving on committees, preparing materials at home, and helping with grounds work, to assisting in classrooms, chaperoning field trips, acting as crossing guards, and more—your time and talents make a big difference.

Each family is asked to contribute 40 volunteer hours per school year and we’d love to help you find volunteer opportunities that fit your schedule and interests.

  • To participate, all volunteers must first complete a background check and sign the Volunteer Code of Conduct.
  • Once these two steps are complete, the School Community Coordinator will notify you by email that you are green badge approved and ready to volunteer!
  • Visit our website or contact Ridgeline’s School Community Coordinator, Bethany Dilla, or learn more.

Track it Forward - Information for New Volunteers

Why It Matters

New beginnings prompt the opportunity to form new habits! When it comes to volunteering, we need everyone to consistently track ALL volunteer hours throughout the school year in Track It Forward. Volunteer hour reporting is important for us to show support for Ridgeline when applying for grants and for reporting to our sponsoring district, Eugene 4J.

How to Get Started

If you are new to Ridgeline and have not yet created a Track it Forward account for logging your volunteer hours, please take a moment to do so. If you are a first-time Track It Forward user and have not set up an account you will need to create an account first.

  • Go to https://www.trackitforward.com/user or go to the App store on your device and search for Track It Forward
  • Next download the App
  • Create your account/log in
  • Sign up for volunteer opportunities and log your volunteer hours!

Our Commitment to Student Safety & Privacy

At Ridgeline, our priority is that every student feels safe, supported, and able to learn each day. Grounded in Montessori values of dignity, respect, and care for the whole child, we want families to know that we have clear procedures in place for how staff respond if immigration enforcement personnel were to come to campus. Staff are required to route all requests through school leadership and legal counsel, and we do not share student or family information without a valid judicial order. These guidelines are designed to protect student privacy, maintain calm, and ensure all requests are handled lawfully—so learning and community remain at the center of our day.

We encourage families to think ahead and discuss plans that feel right for your family once students leave campus. Families may also choose to connect with one another to coordinate support, recognizing that our strength as a community comes from shared care and partnership.

Families who would like additional information or support may find these resources helpful:

  • Oregon Department of Justice Sanctuary Promise Guidance

  • Know Your Rights

  • Oregon Department of Education: DACAmented/Undocumented Students Toolkit

We remain committed to Ridgeline being a safe, welcoming community for all children.
