Meet the newest members of the Hixson Middle School Community!

We are so excited to welcome four new chickens to The Heart of Hixson! The students in our Sustainability class will be working with Mr. Hayes to name the chickens! They are the cutest thing ever!

Early Dismissals

We are seeing an increase in last minute phone calls for early dismissals. Therefore, here is a reminder of the early dismissal procedures that we ask our families to follow. Please contact Hixson administration if you have any questions about this process.

Early Dismissals

Please let us know as soon as you possibly can if you need to pick your student up early. This will give us plenty of time to locate your student and get them out to your car. If you wait until the last minute, then please expect to wait 15 minutes or possibly more for us to locate your student and get them outside to your car.
If you need to pick your student up early, please do so by 2:50 pm. Any early dismissal request made after 2:50 pm will be asked to wait until 3:25 pm. Early dismissal processes are not to be used to get ahead of the regular dismissal traffic.
Parents should not enter the building to sign their student out.
Park in front of the Main Entrance in front of the Library.
Call us at 314-963-6450 and follow the prompts to get to the correct administrative assistant according to your last name.
Your student will be called to the Main Office, and if you gave us plenty of notice, then your student will already be waiting for you.
Your student will sign out on a Chromebook, exit the Main Office, and walk out to your car.
Your student will not be dismissed to anyone who is not in SIS.

School Culture and Climate Surveys

WGSD values the academic and personal well-being of each student. In continuation of our efforts, district surveys will be administered to students in grades 3-12, families, and staff.

To learn more about the district culture and climate surveys click here. Families wishing to opt-out their children from participating in the survey can do so here. Opt-outs will need to be completed by 11:59 p.m. on September 23.

Rock & Roll Bingo Date Change (Save the NEW Date!)

Hey Hixson Families! Don't forget to save the date for this year's Rock & Roll Bingo night. The event will be held Friday, November 11 at the Shrewsbury City Center. Doors will open at 6pm, and the Rock & Roll Bingo will start at 7pm. Be on the lookout for registration information in early October! If you would like to donate to our bingo prize collection or our silent auction, please contact Megan O'Brien at obrien.megan@wgmail.org.
