Principal's Update
Dear Ridgeview United,
I hope this message finds you well and that your student has had a successful and engaging start to the school year. It’s hard to believe, but we are already approaching the end of the 1st quarter!
The 1st quarter will officially end on Friday, October 3rd. Progress reports will be available for viewing in Infinite Campus on Friday, October 10th. This is a great opportunity to check in on your student’s academic progress and celebrate their hard work, as well as identify any areas that may need additional attention or support.
As a reminder, Fall Break will take place from October 13-17. School will be closed during this time, and we hope your family enjoys a restful and refreshing break.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child’s education. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Warm regards,
Thomas Garrett

Building Parent Capacity
🧩 Building Parent Capacity: One Size Does Not Fit All
Effective family-school communication is essential—especially in middle school, where students face greater academic and social transitions. A recent article, One Size Does Not Fit All, highlights how schools can better engage families by moving beyond generic updates and adopting more personalized, consistent, and culturally responsive communication strategies. The article stresses the importance of building parent capacity through clear, ongoing two-way communication that helps families understand academic expectations, assessments, and how to support learning at home. It’s a strong reminder: when schools meet families where they are, everyone wins.
📌 Takeaway: To truly build parent capacity, schools must use flexible, inclusive, and frequent communication methods that reflect the diverse needs of the families they serve.
