Miller Elementary Weekly Update
For the Week of September 21, 2026
Hello Miller Families!
Homecoming Spirit Week at Miller Elementary was such a blast! As you can see from the photo above, our Little Greenmen are ready to Tackle the Tigers! From the Hawaiian outfits, our favorite sports team to pajama day, we had a lot of fun dressing up this past week. Thank you for helping to make the week extra fun!
We would also like to thank all the volunteers who helped with Picture Day this past week! We captured a lot of great smiles and we can't wait to see the final takes. As I shared previously, the picture packages will be delivered in 4-6 weeks. Our picture retake day will be Tuesday, November 10th. Once the portraits arrive, you will have the option to retake your child's picture by sending back the unwanted photos and we will try to capture a new smile. We will also use this day for any children that were absent on picture day.
Finally, our preschool children enjoyed their first "Music with Mrs. Abbey" session. This is one of our community outreach programs to bring a variety of experiences to our preschool program. Ask your preschooler about their favorite song that we enjoyed this week.
I hope you have a wonderful and GO GREENMEN!
Kindly,
Maria Goodman

Upcoming Tuition Reminder
*** UPDATE*** Our central office has not charged credit cards for tuition yet. This will begin next week so if you are paying tuition by credit card, you can expect this to appear on statements next week.
This is a friendly reminder that we have sent out tuition letters to any families that have an upcoming payment due on September 15th. These letters came home in your child's take home folder this past week and will be coming home with our preschoolers next week.
Our total tuition cost for preschool is $2000 and full-day kindergarten is $2500. Many families have paid the initial down payment and we collect the next set of fees by September 15th and the final payment will be due on January 15th.
If you sent in a check for the September payment, thank you! We will be running credit cards that you have listed on file after September 15th. If you have changed your credit card information or would like to change the card we have on file, please call Erin Toler at 330-562-6199 and she's happy to get the new information. As a reminder, the tuition information along with our tax-id number for taxes can be found on the tuition contract you signed for preschool or kindergarten enrollment.
Teaching School Expectations
Has your child come home talking about earning a fuzzy pom? Did they bring home a reward ticket? We have officially kicked off teaching our learners about school expectations. At Miller, we work to help our children develop skills to be respectful, responsible, and problem-solvers. However, what does that look like and sound like in our school building? Each week we target a skill that supports the development of social and emotional skills that help all children be a member of a safe and fun learning environment. We will teach them a new skill for the next 6 weeks that helps them be safe, happy, and ready to learn.
Our teaching and reinforcing of school expectations and appropriate choices has continued with helping children develop PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS. We are working on "I CAN TRY FIRST, THEN ASK FOR HELP or I CAN STOP, THINK, and MAKE A GOOD CHOICE!" These two skills support every child to become more independent as well as develop skills of being responsible with their decision making. Learning and practicing these two expectations will help your child develop confidence, self-advocacy and resiliency!
Updates From our School Counselor - Mrs. Ambrosia
Hello Miller Families,
I hope you’re enjoying the sunshine! I wanted to focus this week on two supports we can share and provide to families.
Parenting Program : We’re happy to share a free opportunity for families to access the Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) — a trusted, research-based program that supports parents and caregivers in raising confident, healthy children.
Through this online program, you’ll find helpful strategies to:

Balance parenting with your own well-being
The program is self-paced and can be accessed anytime from a phone, tablet, or computer making it easy to fit into your schedule. Aurora Schools Foundation
The Aurora Schools Foundation supports imaginative and innovative opportunities for Aurora School students beyond traditional funding. Teachers can submit grant applications in the fall and in the spring. Here is one example of an ASF grant impact spotlight. We are excited to see other grants brought to life this year! Visit auroraschoolsfoundation.org to learn more.
The Aurora Schools Foundation welcomed two exceptional students, Julia Stockdale (AHS junior) and Yashasvi Konduru (AHS senior), as the newest ASF student ambassadors!
You may recognize Yash for his role in establishing Aurora's first-ever Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) at AHS. Yash and the FBLA group secured state and national placements!
You'll likely see Julia eloquently managing her time competing in or photographing sporting events, focusing on her AP studies, creating music, and so much more!
Yash and Julia will dedicate their time and skills to ASF and bring the student perspective to the organization.
