IAR Testing Continues

Just a reminder that Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) testing continues next week on April 7, 8, and 10. Please ensure your child arrives on time each day, as testing will begin first thing in the morning. Students who arrive late may need to wait in the office until the session is over and will be required to complete a makeup test later. Additionally, please make sure they bring a fully charged Chromebook and their headphones to school each day. Thank you for your support!

You can help your child do their best on the test by:

Making sure that your child attends school on the days of testing, if possible;
Making sure your child gets a good night’s sleep the night before testing;
Providing breakfast on the mornings of testing;
Letting your child know that you have confidence in their ability; and
Advising your child not to worry about the test and to do the best that they can.

Children's Book Drive

The Middle School National Junior Honor Society is partnering with Bernie's Book Bank to host a book drive! Donation bins will be placed outside the media center for students to drop off books. Check out the flyer below for more details.

"Little Miss Christie"

Come see the Fremont Middle School musical, April 11 at 6:30 pm. Fremont Middle School's big gym. $5 at the door.

This tuneful thriller is loaded with mystery, action, and laughter. Strange things are happening at spooky Saltmarsh Manor, the old house next to Greystone Academy, a boarding school for teenagers. Aunt Martha and Aunt Helen have seen ghosts and heard the organ play with no one at the keys. Madam Orloff, the psychic, says the spirit of August Grimm, also known as ’Mad Monk,’ has returned. But what does he want? Obviously, it’s a case for Christie Blake, the devoted fan of mystery writer Agatha Christie. Christie involves the student body of Greystone Academy in these strange happenings. The chills and thrills end in a hair-raising seance that pits Christie against evil forces.

Summer School Programs

The time is here to sign up for two out of the five summer school programs that Fremont School District is offering this summer!

1- Summer Adventures in Learning (sign up here) consists of one-week interest-based enrichment courses led by Fremont staff! There are two time-sessions each day, which allows you to sign up for two classes per week. Classes may fill up, or need to be canceled, so you will be able to indicate a first and second choice for each of the six class periods between June 9 and June 27. This is also the form to sign up for bus transportation. There are no mid-session bus routes, so anyone signing up for only one class per week will need to provide transportation. All costs will be found on Teacherease after your classes are confirmed.

2- Summer Boost (sign up here) is an asynchronous continuation of student learning online. All students will have access to online learning tools used throughout the school year, but signing up for Summer Boost connects your child with a teacher who will help to monitor their online progress, offer encouragement, and provide optional office hours.

3- Summer Scholars, 4- Extended School Year, and 5- Multilingual, are all programs that are invitation-only. You should be hearing from teachers and case managers soon if your child is invited to attend this summer. These three programs offer tailored assistance with Math and Reading, in-person from June 6-June 27.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

The Fremont PTO would love to see you at our meetings this year! Meetings are on the third Wednesday of the month in the Middle School Den at 6:00 p.m. Our next meeting is on April 16.

Childcare services for children ages 3+ will be provided at ALL of our upcoming PTO meetings. Please use the form below to let us know if you will be bringing a child to the meeting. It is not required to RSVP; however, we ask that you please do so if you plan to take advantage of childcare. Care will be provided by Fremont Middle School students for individuals ages 3 and up.

FREMONT FAMILY MULTICULTURAL FAIR - APRIL 10

Do you know how to cook a delicious dish, have examples of clothing, arts, or crafts, or can you play music or perform dances from another country? Join other District families for the annual Fremont Family Multicultural Fair on Wednesday, April 10 at Fremont Elementary School! Even if you cannot bring anything, we still hope you can make it to this PTO-sponsored event. Join us in celebrating the diversity that makes Fremont so special! SAVE THE DATE! FAMILY BINGO NIGHT & BOOK FAIR

Join us Friday, April 25 for a fun night of BINGO! This event is hosted alongside the Intermediate Student Council and will be held in the Intermediate School Gym from 6:30-8:00 p.m. The Book Fair will also be open 5:30-8:00 p.m. This will be the last time to shop at the book fair this year! Registration will begin after Spring Break, so keep an eye out for more details!

PTO MEMBERSHIP/ONLINE DIRECTORY FOR 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR

If you already have an account in Membership Toolkit, thank you for creating and/or updating your Membership Toolkit account last year.

If you don't have an account in Membership Toolkit, set it up now for free! Once you have created an account in Membership Toolkit your child will appear in the online directory immediately (that's if you choose to do so). To create an account, go to fsd79.membershiptoolkit.com and follow the directions in the attached form (Online Student Directory Set Up Instructions 2024-2025).

To gain access to the Online Student Directory your account must be active and you must pay the $15 PTO Membership Family Fee. If you paid your PTO Membership fee through your TeacherEase account before June 15th, your payment has been confirmed and you currently have access to the Online Student Directory. If you didn’t pay your PTO Membership Family Fee before June 15th, you can pay the $15 PTO Membership Family fee thru Venmo @Fremont-PTO; or by bringing or sending the attached form with your cash payment or check made payable to Fremont PTO to any school front office. The option to pay the PTO Membership Fee thru your TeacherEase account is no longer available. Once we receive confirmation of your payment, we will give you access to the online directory. Please note it may take up to one week to be granted access to the online directory.

BIRTHDAY BOARD

Celebrate your Fremont Student's special day! "Happy Birthday, Your Child's Name" can appear on the Fremont Electronic Message Board. Just complete the Birthday Board Request Google Form 2024-2025; or complete the birthday board form and send it back to any school front office with your $5 payment per birthday message.
