Principal Message
Today marks the end of Quarter 1! Report cards will be sent home on Friday, October 30. We are proud of the hard work our students have put in this quarter and look forward to building on that progress in Quarter 2.
This week, we successfully completed our lockdown drill. Thank you to our students and staff for taking the drill seriously and following directions. We hope we will never need to use these procedures in a real emergency, but we are glad to have a plan in place and to practice so we are prepared if needed.
Next week is our Fall PBIS Spirit Week! We look forward to seeing our students show their school spirit throughout the week. A reminder that Monday is the last day to purchase tickets for the Glow Dance, so be sure to grab your tickets before the deadline!
Finally, Friday, October 30, is a half day, with dismissal at 11:15 a.m. We hope everyone enjoys the upcoming week!

Halloween Costumes - Oct 30
PBIS Q1 Celebration - Friday, October 30 (11:15 PM Dismissal)
All costumes should still meet all district dress code rules
No fake weapons with your costume (never a good idea at school)
No costume masks or face paint that covers or conceals your face (this is a safety issue)
No fake blood (this stains our floors and is very difficult to clean)
No blow-up costumes (takes up too much space in class and halls)
Costume choice should not portray a stereotypical image of any group of people or culture, or be offensive to any racial, ethnic or religious group
Bus Passes
If your child has not yet received their bus pass, the remaining passes will be distributed during Advisory on Tuesday.
Once students receive their bus pass, they are expected to scan on and off the bus each day. This helps families and the school know when students board and exit the bus and supports their safety.
Ronald McDonald Mobile Care
Chippewa is grateful for our partnership with Ronald McDonald to provide free school physicals and vaccinations to students who need it. The Mobile Care Unit was at Chippewa this week and helped quite a few students get their health requirements meet.
We invite you to take a few minutes to participate in a brief survey about our website so we can better understand what is working well and what could be easier to find.
Please take a few minutes to participate in our survey.
Thank you in advance for your honest feedback. The data we gather will inform our strategy and help us make our website more intuitive, accessible and useful.
The survey will close on October 30.
We appreciate your partnership and support!
Parenting the Love and Logic Way

Parenting comes with plenty of rewarding moments—and plenty of challenges! District 62 families are invited to participate in Love and Logic, a free, practical workshop designed to help parents and caregivers navigate everyday parenting challenges with greater confidence, less stress, and more fun.

Participants will explore the two rules of Love and Logic, learn about anticipatory consequences, discover ways to neutralize arguing, and gain practical strategies they can use at home.
