Subject: Update: Parent Meeting Rescheduled to Wed, Dec 17 (6–7 PM) — RSVP Required
Dear Hendrickson High School families,
We’re writing with an important update regarding the parent meeting for our Summer 2027 Europe tour. The meeting originally scheduled for Wednesday, December 10, was moved to Wednesday, December 17. The time remains the same: 6:00–7:00pm.
Please RSVP at https://bit.ly/4iALEmy as soon as possible—RSVP’ing is required to attend.
Due to the schedule change, our Tour Consultant at EF has shared that there will be a special one-night discount available for students and families who RSVP and attend the meeting on December 17th.
This Europe tour is a truly life-changing opportunity. International travel helps students build confidence, broaden their perspectives, and connect classroom learning to the real world. And with the holidays upon us, it’s the perfect time to consider giving the gift of travel—an experience that lasts long after the season ends.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reply to this email. We look forward to seeing you on the 17th!
Warm Regards,
Carmen Tydings & Pilar Lira (Ms. G)

ACC Dual Credit Information Meeting
ACC Dual Credit Information Meeting – December 17, 6:00–7:00 PM (Library)
All students interested in taking ACC Dual Credit courses are invited to attend an information session on December 17 from 6–7 PM in the HHS Library. While the meeting is especially important for sophomores planning to apply for the Dual Credit Junior Cohort, it will also include information for any student considering taking ACC classes independently.
Our ACC representatives will be on campus to provide guidance and answer any questions you may have. We’ll review the enrollment process, required steps (ACCeID, orientation, TSI testing), course options, and details about cohort selection for next year.
If you have questions before or after the meeting, please contact Mrs. Akin.

FAFSA is Open (Class of 2026)
Dear Senior Parents and Guardians, The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is officially open for the Class of 2026! Completing the FAFSA is the most important step in securing financial aid for college, trade school, or career training programs. This application determines eligibility for: Federal grants (money you don’t repay) Work-study opportunities Low-interest federal student loans Many state and college-specific scholarships How the FAFSA Works This Year: The student begins the FAFSA with their own username and password. The student will then invite one parent/guardian (called a “contributor”) to log in with their own username and password. That parent completes their section, and then the FAFSA is submitted. Important: Only one parent needs to fill out the FAFSA. Which parent is used depends on the family situation: Married parents (to each other): Both parents’ information is included, but only one parent logs in as the contributor. Divorced/separated parents: Use the parent the student lived with most in the past 12 months (or who provided more financial support). If that parent is remarried, the stepparent’s info must be included too. Single, never married parent: Only that parent’s info is needed. Why act quickly? Some financial aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Many colleges require the FAFSA on file before awarding scholarships. Even if you don’t think you qualify, it’s still worth completing. You’ll need your 2024 tax information to complete the form.
