Jog-A-Thon Celebrations

Drum roll, please! Here's are the results of the Foundation's Annual Jog-A-Thon Fundraiser and we couldn't be more proud, more amazed and more thankful!

Thanks to the generous donations of our Coyote supporters and the hard work of each of our Coyotes to run their hardest during this event, we were able to raise just over $39k with a 63% overall school-wide participation rate of students who turned in a donation of any amount.

We want to take this time to recognize some outstanding Coyotes who 1. Ran the most laps in their grade level, 2. Turned in the most pledges over $10, 3. Turned in the top 10 highest pledge totals, and 4. The top 2 classes with the highest class participation rate. These Coyotes were rewarded with prizes and/or a pizza or ice cream party.

Thank you for your continued support to help the Foundation provide quality enrichment programs for our students such as Art, Music, PE, Science, Technology, and IMPACT Reading!

Cooler Than Lemonade: A Story About Great Ideas and How They Happen, written by Harshita Jerath, illustrated by Chloe Burgett

One scorching summer day, Eva comes up with a great idea: a lemonade stand! But when she sees that Jake across the street has his own stand, and he's giving away free cookies, Eva comes up with another idea to keep people lining up. Except Jake has ideas too―bigger and better ones, and more customers! Soon Eva is out of ideas, and, she thinks, out of business. But when she takes a moment to be creative again and makes a batch of delicious kulfi ice cream, she discovers fresh inspiration―and a new way to succeed.

Paletero Man, written by Lucky Diaz, illustrated by Micah Player

What’s the best way to cool off on a hot summer day? Run quick and find Paletero José! Narrated by the author himself, this read aloud story takes you on a boy’s journey through a busy LA neighborhood in search of the Paletero Man. But when he finally catches up with him, the boy’s pockets are empty. Oh no! What happened to his dinero? It will take the help of the entire community to get the tasty treat now. Full of musicality, generosity, kindness, and ice pops, this engaging tale includes Spanish words and phrases throughout, and a performance of the Lucky Band’s popular song that inspired the book.
