Hi Falcon Families! Check out this week's Falcon Forecast!
Recognize SomeONE at ICE for going above & beyond or just being amazing!
Our Recognize SomeONE program gives our staff and community members the opportunity to highlight the exceptional work of our staff here at LISD. We believe that supporting our staff is critical to creating an encouraging culture where teachers and administrators feel valued and respected.
NEWS FROM THE OFFICE & ADMINISTRATION
A Message from the Principal, Jennifer Driver
Falcon Families,
🎉 Friday Nite Live is TONIGHT!
Friday Nite Live begins at 7:00 PM and ends at 10:30 PM.
Friday Nite Live is a fun evening for kids that includes organized games and activities, a snack bar, and supervised play. Adults and an off-duty police officer are present throughout the evening.
It's a great opportunity for the kids to have some fun with friends—and maybe for parents to enjoy a few kid-free hours, too! 😊
🏈💙 Hebron Homecoming Week is Next Week!
Next week is Hebron High School Homecoming Week, and we are excited to join in the fun and show our support for HHS! ICES will be participating in the Homecoming Parade on Wednesday at 6pm as well as the Homecoming Dress-Up Days throughout the week.
Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students were given a permission form with the opportunity to walk with ICES in the Homecoming Parade. If your child would like to join us, please return the signed permission form to the office by Tuesday. A signed permission form must be received for your child to participate.
Students who participate will walk the parade route with us and help throw candy to the crowd! We ask that each student participating bring their own bag of individually wrapped candy to throw along the parade route.
We would love to have a group of ICES Falcons representing our school and supporting our Hebron Hawks! Let’s show our school spirit and have some Homecoming fun! 💙🏈🎉
We're ROCKIN' learning this year!

The Zones of Regulation
This year, we are excited to have implemented The Zones of Regulation in all of our classrooms! The Zones of Regulation is a framework that helps students better understand their emotions, energy levels, and states of alertness by organizing them into four easy-to-understand, color-coded categories.
One of the most important messages we teach students is that all zones are acceptable. We all experience different emotions throughout the day. The goal is not to always be in a certain zone, but rather for students to recognize how they are feeling, understand what their bodies and emotions are telling them, and learn strategies and tools to help manage and regulate those feelings.
Our four-category Mood Meter provides another visual tool for students to identify and communicate their emotions and feelings. By using common language and strategies throughout our campus, we are helping students build self-awareness, strengthen self-regulation skills, and develop tools they can use both in and out of the classroom. A copy of the Mood Meter used on our campus is below as well as a PDF version you can use at home if you'd like. We encourage you to ask your child about the Zones and what strategies they are learning at school!

Breakfast & Lunch Menus - Please note: Pre-K has a different menu
Lunch schedules for all grades are listed below. The lunch menu for the current month is also included. Please keep the following guidelines in mind:
- For the safety of our students, LISD requires permission from a parent or legal guardian for anyone wanting to have lunch with a student other than the guardians listed in Skyward Family Access.
- Lunch visits are not a time for students to get together with friends at the visitor table. Visitors can only have lunch with one student at a time unless they are siblings.
- Due to many of our students having severe and life-threatening allergies to many food products, visitors may only bring food for their child/children.
You will find breakfast and lunch menus HERE.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT ICES!
Want to Help with Class Parties or Chaperone Field Trips? Complete a VOLY App!
Volunteers are an integral part of what we do every day in LISD.
LISD uses VOLY, a volunteer management system, to post volunteer opportunities and find volunteers. To volunteer on one of our campuses, you will need to create a VOLY account by visiting lewisvilleisd.voly.org. (Please note: do not use Internet Explorer as your browser when using VOLY.) VOLY will send you customized e-mails with opportunities that may interest you for volunteering.
LISD Board Policy requires that each volunteer undergoes a background check before working with students. You will be prompted to complete the background check during your VOLY account creation process. Keep an eye on your inbox for your background check approval (the process can take up to 2-3 weeks). Once approved, you will be able to sign up directly for volunteer opportunities through the VOLY platform!
