Prayer - Peace from God
Loving God,
Thank You for the gift of this day and for our Catholic school, where we learn about Your great love for us. Today we pray for Your special gift of Peace.
As we enter our school days we may encounter times of worry, nervousness and the feeling of being overwhelmed. We ask that in those moments, You fill our hearts with Your quiet, gentle calm.
Help us to be peacemakers today and every day.
Give us the courage to choose kind words, forgive others when it is hard to and to bring joy to our classrooms and our playground. As we become artisans of peace this year, guide our steps and keep our school family united in Your love. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
Principals Message
Our School year is officially off to a wonderful start here at Resurrection. Thank you for all your continued support over the last month. This year, our Board theme is Artisan's of Peace "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." (Matthew 5:9) This important gospel message will guide our journey for the 2026-27 school year. We will use this messaging and our Catholic Graduate Expectations to help guide our Catholic values and learnings.
Good and gracious God, we give You thanks today, as we do all days, first and foremost for
the gift of creation and the gift of life. We ask You to bless this food, that it may nourish us
and sustain us, and strengthen our ability to do Your will. We pray in thanksgiving for all the
hands involved in bringing it to our table. May this meal and the fellowship we enjoy not only
serve as clear reminders of Your love of us, but of Your call for us to share Your love and to
serve our brothers and sisters, especially those most in need."
I hope you all have a wonderful restful Thanksgiving.
Mrs. Marcia DeDominicis
Principal

During the day, children will come to view the pumpkins and will choose their favourite in each category. The family that wins each category will get a $25 grocery gift card. Please make sure the scary ones aren’t too scary and are in alignment with our Catholic values. Please keep in mind our young audience—some being only 3 and 4 years old.
October 30th - Halloween
Children are permitted to wear their costumes to school. Costumes must not conflict with our Catholic values. No blood, weapons or gore are to be worn at school. Violent accessories such as knives, guns, spears and swords are not permitted at school. Students will be going on a walk/parade around the neighbourhood (weather permitted). Masks can be worn during the parade as long as they don’t obstruct a student’s ability to see but they must be set aside for the remainder of the day. Costumes are to be modest and school appropriate. Following the parade, students will return to their rooms for Halloween themed learning activities and a party. This is an official treat day but please remember we are a nut safe school.
Rainy Day Procedures
On rainy or inclement weather mornings, please continue with the morning routine of entering the school through your designated doors. Kindergarten students will continue to enter through the side Kindergarten door and all other students will enter through their designated playground doors. Parents and students should refrain from entering through the main front doors. If you need your child, or a teacher, Mrs. Andree or Mrs. DeDominicis will be glad to assist. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Tax Direction Information
Support Catholic Education in the Upcoming Municipal Election
Help protect and preserve our Catholic education system by ensuring that you are registered as an English Separate (Catholic) School Supporter. Like many Catholics, you may be surprised to find out that you are registered as a 'Public School' supporter. You are able to correct this before the upcoming election.
If you miss the update deadline, you can also bring photo identification and proof of address to your polling station on election day to ensure you are able to cast a vote for your local Catholic school trustee.
By directing your tax support to the separate school system:
- You may vote for separate school trustees in municipal elections
- Your children may attend Catholic elementary schools
You show your support for the Catholic school system
You can visit MPAC to learn more about changing your school support online or download the MPAC school support factsheet below.
