We are grateful for the opportunity to host our unique Spring Musical in this beautiful, historic theatre right here in Allentown! Did you know that we are the first public elementary school to put on such a production at Miller Symphony Hall? Your child is a part of our premiere at the Hall, which takes our musical to a whole new level! We couldn't be more proud and excited!

Miller Symphony Hall Turns 125 This Year! 🎂

The first performance was held in 1899, when it was then named, "The Lyric Theatre”.

Very famous people have crossed this stage! Educator, author and public speaker, Booker T. Washington spoke here in 1901! In 1912, Presidential candidates Woodrow Wilson and Theodore Roosevelt campaigned here as well!

The auditorium seats 1,100 guests! With two shows, this means 2,200 guests will watch our musical live, in-person this year!

Since we do not charge for these tickets, we are asking you to please give us an idea of how many tickets are needed for our 4th & 5th grade families. We want to avoid tickets being reserved if they will not be used on the night of the performance, so please offer an amount you think you will actually use.

Important note: Tickets will be reserved through the Miller Symphony Hall Box Office. This survey will help us with the setup. It is not your actual reservation.

How to Decide Which Night to Attend

• Artists, Dancers and Ensemble will be supporting/performing each night.
• Artists will be separated into Tech Team (Lighting/Sound); Stage Crew or Ushers. Artists will be recognized with the finale along with the on-stage roles.
• Lead Actors are separated into Cast A & B but must attend both performances.
• Cast A Lead Actors will be performing Tuesday, May 14th.
• Cast B Lead Actors will be performing Thursday, May 16th.

On Performance Days

• Students need to be at school as usual, on time.
• We will have a dress rehearsal in the morning at the Hall.
• We hope to invite the K-3 students to watch the performance.
• Students will remain at school for an early, light dinner and will head back to the Hall for the evening shows.

Each year, our Arts Team reviews the musicals available through Music Theatre International (MTI). MTI provides the licenses required for us to purchase the scripts, music, logos and other resources to put on each musical. When we first started performing musicals as a required major arts project in 2019, we used the Kids versions.

• 2019: Lion King, Kids
• 2022: Willy Wonka, Kids

Last year, we decided our students were capable of performing the Jr. version, typically used by middle-school performers, so we selected Moana, Jr. in 2023, and our students rocked it!

And now you know why our 2024 selection is Beauty & the Beast, Jr!

The Mayor stops by to see our Beauty and the Beast, Jr! Rehearsals (starting at 1:18)!

We are so very appreciative of Christ Lutheran Church on Hamilton St. in Allentown for serving as our musical venue for 3 years!
