News and Notes
Paper Tutoring Service Update!
Last year we were excited to introduce to our BCSD secondary schools the tutoring service Paper. Paper is a secure, online tutoring service that provides students with unlimited, 24/7 academic support with tutors who have been specially trained to conduct expert, academic support in a secure, chat-based platform. With a commitment to helping students learn, they will never give students answers, but rather interact with them in an encouraging tone to lead them forward.
Paper is a free service that we are providing, so students are encouraged to use it as much as they need, whenever they need. This year, we ask any students who would like to access this resource stop by their school’s main office to sign up. Once their account is activated, Paper will contact them and with sign in information via their school email address and they will be all set to access tutoring support in all of their academic subjects whenever and wherever they like!
If you would like to learn more about Paper you can sign up for a Paper hosted Parent Info Session, available in both English and Spanish. Or if you would like to speak to a member of the Paper team directly, you can reach them at parents@paper.co.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Rachel Kluth, Assistant to the Superintendent for Instruction.

Advanced Placement Program and Testing
Dear AP Student(s) and Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
The AP Program offers college-level courses with accredited exams for high school students through The College Board. Many of the nation’s colleges that most AP candidates attend give credit and/or advanced placement to students whose AP examination grades are considered acceptable.
According to the Program Studies Guide, BHS offers AP courses with the expectation that students enrolled in each course take the associated AP examination in May as part of the course requirements. With the support of AP Teachers, students will join the College Board’s AP Classroom Learning Platform for each course with a specialized “join code”. Here, they will use unit-learning modules and be linked through courses to the AP Exam Ordering system directly.
Senior students enrolled in the SUC at Brockport 3-1-3 Program and BHS courses associated with AP may receive an additional communication regarding opting out of AP testing for those courses as they are already a part of the 3-1-3 Program’s accreditation process to which 3-1-3 students have already paid tuition fees.
you will be able to pay for your AP Exam fees on MySchoolBucks.com, the same site used for school lunches, driver’s ed, etc. The AP Exams can be found as a featured item in MySchoolBucks.com or accessed directly with this link:
https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ver2/prdembd?ref=ZZH4VEDV02082KI_ZZR33RXDC3XOJ8G
If taking more than one exam, select each exam individually and add to basket, repeating until you are ready to check out. Payments for the exam fee are due Friday, February 10th, 2023.
