Tiger News from Principal Stilwell
Information and communication for Garfield Families
Message from Principal Stilwell
Dear Garfield Families,
It’s hard to believe we’re already nearing the end of October! As we head into this busy season, I want to share a few important reminders and heartfelt thanks.
First, a friendly reminder that costumes and masks are not permitted at Garfield. We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
We’re looking forward to connecting with you during Parent-Teacher Conferences on:
- Monday, November 3 from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Tuesday, November 4 from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM and again from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM
If you haven’t yet signed up for a conference time, please be sure to do so soon. These meetings are a valuable opportunity to partner with your child’s teacher and support their learning journey.
I also want to extend my sincere appreciation to everyone who attended the PTA meeting on Monday—your presence and engagement mean so much. If you weren’t able to join us, I warmly encourage you to attend our November PTA meeting on Monday November 17. Your voice and involvement help make Garfield such a special place.
A huge thank you to our amazing PTA for organizing a fantastic Bingo and Game Night! It was a joyful evening with a wonderful turnout. Events like these remind me how lucky we are to be part of such a vibrant, caring community.
Thank you for all you do to support our school.
Warmly,
Kathy Stilwell
Principal

Reminder: Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures
To ensure safety and efficiency during drop-off and pick-up, please follow these guidelines:
- Drop-Off: Stay in your vehicle. Have your child exit on the curbside (passenger side/right side) for safety.
- Pick-Up: Stay in your vehicle. Once you reach the pick-up zone, we will call your child to your car. They will enter on the curbside for safety.
If you need to get out of your car, please park in a designated parking area. Parking is available in the school parking lot or along adjacent streets (including 23rd adjacent to the school parking lot). Do not park in the carline including along the fence on 23rd or in the bus zone on Pine Street. All other areas are open for street parking.
Thank you for helping us keep our students safe and our traffic flow smooth!
