Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month With Us! 🌎
Dear New Hope Elementary Families,
From September 15 to October 15, our school is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! We want to honor the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans, and we need your help to make it meaningful.
We would love for you to share your family’s unique heritage, traditions, and stories with our students. Here are a few easy ways you can get involved:
Be a “Guest” Reader: Send a video of you or your child reading a favorite story that incorporates your Hispanic Heritage.
Contribute to our Mural: Decorate a poster board together with illustrations, photos, or words that represent your culture. We will piece them together into a giant school hallway mural.
If you would like to participate or have another idea to share, please contact one of our English Language Teachers:
Jill Alie jalie@forsyth.k12.ga.us
Gaby Schenk GSchenk@forsyth.k12.ga.us
Emily Loo ELoo@forsyth.k12.ga.us
We welcome all ideas and look forward to celebrating together!
Warmly,
The New Hope ESOL Team
Estimadas familias de New Hope Elementary:
Jill Alie – jalie@forsyth.k12.ga.us
Gaby Schenk – GSchenk@forsyth.k12.ga.us
Emily Loo – ELoo@forsyth.k12.ga.us
Atentamente,
El equipo de ESOL de New Hope
What is Kettle Crew?
A kettle is a group of Nighthawks! Kettle Crew is a special leadership opportunity for 5th grade students to work together, use their strengths, and give back to our school and community. Through service projects and leadership experiences, students learn what it means to SOAR and lead by example.
WE NEED YOUR UNWANTED GAMES!
Do you have board games or card games that you no longer play or want? STEAM and Innovation are looking for gently used games (that contain all their pieces) for use in the classrooms. You may send any game donations to either the STEAM or Innovation teachers. Thank you for your help and support!
COMING SOON!
More details will be sent home closer to the date.
Afternoon Transportation Changes
If your student needs to go home a different way than their USUAL form of transportation, please fill out the Afternoon Transportation Form located HERE and on our website under Quick Links. The form closes every day at 1pm after which time we will notify classroom teachers of any changes. Thank you for not emailing or calling the teacher directly, as these messages often go overlooked during instruction time throughout the school day. You do NOT need to use this form if you are checking your child out early.
September Attendance Information
Did Your Child Forget Something at Home?
Please help our students practice responsibility by having them bring all their necessary items to school in their backpack in the morning, including their lunch box. Please see the flyer below for more details. Thank you for helping our Nighthawks S.O.A.R.!
