Dear HELUS Parents and Families,
Thank you to everyone who has donated to the Asheville, N.C. School District! Our spare change "Funds for Friends" drive runs through TODAY. We appreciate ANY amount you can spare. If you'd like to make larger donation, you can through their fund at https://shorturl.at/ACle3

Our 6th Graders have been enjoying a great week at Emerald Bay Science Camp on Catalina Island. Be sure to see all the pictures on our Instagram and Facebook pages!
October is bullying prevention month. Our classes have been learning through our social emotional curriculum how to get along with others, what it means to be a bully, and to be bullied. It also teaches students what to do if they themselves are bullied or they witness bullying behavior. Bullying prevention will continue to be a focus for our school all year long.
The Board Update from the October meeting is listed below. Each month the district will share a summary of the meeting with discussions and decisions. The community is encouraged to attend the monthly meetings in-person or by joining the ZOOM session.
Here are a couple of updates:
- Veteran's Recognition: As we are looking ahead to fall events, we want to encourage you help us honor local veterans! Please complete the form below so we can honor your vets!
- AVID College & Career Day: This year we are planning our College and Career Day for Friday, November 8th and are looking for speakers from all industries! Follow this link to sign up to speak with us. More detail is in the link, or feel free to contact me.
