Quick Tidbits
- Welcome to term 2! Term 1 is finalized on Aspire.
- As a reminder, homeroom citizenship is based off of attendance per our school handbook. This includes excused and unexcused absences.
- Less than 3 tardies OR absences results in S for satisfactory.
- 3-6 tardies OR absences results in N for needs improvement.
- 7+ tardies OR absences results in U for unsatisfactory.
- Subject classes will show satisfactory for my classes.
- Any behavior concerns are communicated directly via email. 🙂
- Please see the Wednesday note for more information on appropriate Halloween costumes at school. Direct any questions about this to the front office.
- PLEASE take time to review this so your child is able to participate fully in our parade.
With the weather starting to change, if your child brings a jacket or sweater, please make sure their name is on it somewhere. Especially if it is a uniform color. There are many that look similar and students can lose things quickly. Any jacket or sweater that wants to be worn in the classroom must be uniform color. It does not need to be uniform color to be worn at recess or before/after school.

Math
i-Ready
Unit 3: Lesson 8
How to help at home in math:
- Review the family letter with your child.
- Use flashcards (0-100) and help your student identify what the number is, in addition to which number comes next. EX: hold up the number 31. "That's 31! 32 comes next."
- Practicing number formation at home, even for just a few minutes or a few numbers each day, can make a big difference!
- Encourage your child to start numbers at the top (or just below the top line). We use chants in class to remind students how to form each number. Feel free to use these at home as well (chants below the number formation).
- Check out i-Ready's Family Center to search for more specific information and find additional ideas to support your child's math skills.
Number Formation 0-3
0: Round and around and around you go. That's the way to make zero!
1: Number one is like a stick. A line straight down, that's very quick!
2: For number two, go right around. Then make a line across the ground.
3: Go right around, what will it be? Go around again to make a three!
Number Formation 4-7
4: Down and over, down once more, that's the way to make a four!
5: Go down and around, then you stop. Finish the 5 with a line on top!
6: Down around in a circle you go. That’s a 6 just as you know!
7: Slide to the right, then slant the line. That makes a 7 every time!
Number Formation 8-10
8: Make an “S” but do not wait. Slant back up to make an 8!
9: Circle to the left and add a line. Now you’ve made the number 9!
10: Make a 1 and then 0. That makes 10! Now you know!
Spanish with Senora Andrade
We have Spanish 3 times a week- Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday!

Access Programs We Use
What Is Clever?
Clever is an app/website that allows students to log into multiple programs through the click of a button. By logging in through a computer or scanning their clever badge on a mobile device (QR code sent home with them), you can access programs the same way we use in school at home. If you ever have questions, please reach out and I am happy to help troubleshoot.
