Wellness Week is Coming to Wildwood!
🧃 Monday, October 27 – Healthy Consumption Day
Theme: Healthy Food & Healthy Tech
Dress: Wear colorful clothing
We’ll kick off Wellness Week by focusing on how to make healthy choices with what we eat, drink, and consume digitally. Students can visit the lunch tables at morning recess to try some healthy snacks provided by our Wellness Team. 3rd-5th graders will also attend an assembly in the afternoon to learn healthy tech habits.
🏅 Tuesday, October 28 – Sports and Movement Day
Dress: Sportswear, team jerseys, or movement outfits
We’ll celebrate the importance of movement and teamwork! College athletes from California Lutheran University will join us during morning and lunch recess to lead fun drills and games. Don’t forget to give them a warm Wildwood welcome!
🚶 Wednesday, October 29 – Walk & Roll to School Day
Theme: Healthy Body & Healthy Community
Dress: Regular school clothes
Students are encouraged to walk, bike, or scooter to school and enjoy greeting our local police officers, firefighters, and first responders upon arrival. Classes will also attend a firefighter assembly to learn about community safety and service.
🦃 Thursday, October 30 – Healthy Attitudes Day
Dress: Regular school clothes
Our friends from TOHS ASB will lead a “Thankful Turkeys” project. During first recess, students can stop by the MPR to decorate a turkey feather with words or pictures of what they’re thankful for. The completed turkeys will be displayed at Wildwood Elementary and Thousand Oaks High School throughout November.
🎃 Friday, October 31 – Happy Halloween!
Dress: Halloween Costumes (See message below for details and restrictions)
We’ll wrap up Wellness Week with our annual Wildwood Costume Parade! Throughout the week, our Tigers will have practiced ways to live healthy, balanced lives — eating well, staying active, showing gratitude, and keeping positive attitudes.
Please remind your students to celebrate safely while trick-or-treating and enjoy a happy, healthy Halloween weekend!
All Grades Costume Parade
Our Annual All Grades Costume Parade will begin at 8:20am on Friday, October 31st. Parents are invited to stay after drop-off and watch the parade. This year, like last year, the parade will weave through each classroom, so parents may gather on one of our two upper blacktops to view the parade as it passes by.
As a reminder, student costumes must be school appropriate. Full face masks, blood or gore, and any type of weapon are not permitted. Also, since this year's parade will weave through the classrooms, we ask all students to avoid wearing inflatable costumes and any costume that covers their face because they make it difficult to navigate the narrow twists and turns through the classrooms.
Any students who do not wish to participate in the parade will be provided an alternate activity.
We will NOT be pre-registering guests for the Costume Parade this year. Instead, we invite families to remain on campus after the 8:05am morning line-up bell. Those of you who arrive after gates are closed at 8:10am may enter campus through the front driveway bike gate which will be open on this morning for campus access.
We look forward to seeing you at our All Grades Costume Parade.
Please gather in one of the Parent Viewing Areas shown below to view the parade.

Wildwood Spelling Bee
On Monday, November 17, Wildwood will conduct the first round of this year's school spelling bee. All interested 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students are invited to the MPR after they eat lunch to take a 25-question spelling test that will determine the 8-12 students who will move forward to our final spelling bee in December. Any 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade students who are absent on November 17 may join us for a make-up test at the same time and place on Tuesday, November 18.
