EJMS Families,

Our 8th grade students are having a great time in Washington, DC! They have been busy each day since leaving on Thursday morning, but hope they have safe travels back home today.

Insights Survey

This year, the district is replacing the Speakup survey with a new, shorter Technology survey to gather better data. Please complete this survey prior to Friday, April 4th.

The purpose of this survey is to inform our Technology plans and Ed Tech initiatives across the district. By collecting feedback from various stakeholders, we can better understand how technology is perceived and used in our schools. This insight will enable us to provide better support for teachers and remove barriers for students, ultimately maximizing student learning through technology.

For all schools that meet 30% participation rate from parents, they will be entered to win additional funding for technology. Please help us meet this goal by taking a few minutes to complete this survey. Thank you!

Staff Spotlight

We're excited to announce that effective for the 25 - 26 school year, Courtney Becknell will be East Jessamine Middle School's Student Experience & Programming Coordinator. This role is geared towards creating a positive, engaging, and supportive environment that caters specifically to the developmental needs of middle school students. The Student Experience & Programming Coordinator will oversee the middle school athletic and extracurricular programs. Courtney is excited about her new role for next year and looks forward to working in this way with students, staff, coaches, and community to continue the growth of our athletics as well as our school. Congratulations, Courtney!

EJMS Cultural Celebration

Please join us to share your family's cultures and traditions

We're excited to continue our student-led culture fair into the evening this year. We hope that you are your family will join us to share and learn about other EJMS families' cultures. There are a number of ways you might do this such as

1. Food and Recipes from your culture- we can provide recipe cards for attendants to write down your recipe to take home! Please share what you plan to bring and how we might help!

2. Make and Take Seasoning Blends- Do you have a family recipe for a seasoning you use in your cooking? Think taco seasoning, spice blends for dry rubs, herb blends for bread dipping, condiments, etc. If you can provide ingredients and/or send these recipes beforehand, we would love to provide the supplies for you to show others how to make these and take them home!

3. Cultural Dance- Do you or your family have a dance or other cultural activity that you do during celebrations?

4. Music- Do you or a family member play an instrument or sing? We would love to have you come share your talent! Please let us know how many are in your group and if you need any musical instruments.
