Fremont Elementary School

A Message From Mrs. Carmody
Dear Fremont Families,
On Monday afternoon, we will be sending an email announcing that our 2nd trimester report cards will be accessible in TeacherEase. These are intended to be a touchpoint on your child(ren)'s school journey. As our littlest learners on our campus, it is important to remember that learning is a process, and every child progresses at their own pace. Use the report card as an opportunity to celebrate growth and set goals together. It is important to remember that your child may present differently at home than they do at school. That is ok! They are two very different environments that pose different challenges. Your child’s teacher is happy to help interpret the report and discuss next steps at conferences next week.
Repeat from last week:
For our Kindergarten Families:
The Elementary School has one multiage classroom. A class of first graders and a class of second graders share a double classroom with two teachers. It is a two-year commitment as the first graders will remain in the class for their first and second grade experience. If you are interested in having your child in the 1st/2nd Grade Multiage Classroom, please fill out the following 2025/2026 1st/2nd Multiage Class Preference Form. This is a request, and not a guarantee of placement. Click on this website link for more information.
For our Second Grade Families:
If you are interested in having your child in the 3rd/4th Multiage Classroom, or a team teaching classroom, for the Intermediate School, please complete this 2025/2026 Intermediate Class Preference Form. This is a request, and not a guarantee of placement. Click on this website link for more information.
Please only fill out the form(s) if you are interested in one of these options. You will receive an email confirmation of your submission once completed. If you do not receive an email confirmation, your submission was not received and you will need to re-submit your form. Our number one priority is balanced classrooms. We will institute a lottery system if we have more interest than spots available.
Interest forms must be completed by March 7. If you have further questions about first grade options please reach out to me at bcarmody@fsd79.org. If you have further questions about third grade options please reach out to Stefan Ladenburger, Principal at the Intermediate School. sladenburger@fsd79.org
Thank you for your partnership and support!
With gratitude,
Beth Carmody
Firefighter Casey Visits Fremont!
This week, our students had an exciting visit from Firefighter Casey as part of the Fire and Life Safety Program! They learned about the Fire Triangle—the three essential elements needed for a fire: fuel, oxygen, and heat. Through a hands-on activity, students categorized different items into the correct parts of the triangle, deepening their understanding of how fires start and how they can be prevented.
Understanding the Fire Triangle is an important step in fire safety awareness. By recognizing how fires sustain themselves, students can learn how to make safer choices at home and in the community. This knowledge empowers them to be more cautious around heat sources, understand the importance of fire prevention, and know how to respond in case of an emergency.
A big thank you to Firefighter Casey for making learning about fire safety both engaging and memorable!

Please see the attached list for donation suggestions. Donations can be brought to school. There will be a table in the front hallway. Donations are due by: Friday, March 14th

A friendly reminder about our drop off and pick up line ...

- If you arrive at school after 8:55 am, you must come into the school to sign your student in. Doors close at 8:55 am.
Student Absences
If your child will be absent from school for any reason, please report the absence to the school office by 9:00 a.m. by calling 847-837-0437 option 2. Safety is our number one priority so please help us by reporting as soon as possible. Attendance at school is crucial for your child’s success so every effort should be made to avoid non-health-related absences.
