And the Special This Week is...
Partnering with Francestown Land Trust and the George Holmes Bixby Library
Thank you to the PTO for helping us kick off testing week with a delicious pancake breakfast! Students enjoyed pancakes, fruit, and juice to start their day off right. They then worked hard to complete the math, reading, and writing portions of the New Hampshire State Test. Well done, everyone!
Join Us!
Come March In the Parade
Your child has been working very hard to create a puppet to march with in the Children in the Arts parade. Join us in the Peterborough Elementary School parking lot from 11:15 to 11:30. Wear your FES shirt or a blue shirt to show your school pride. We look forward to seeing you there!
Memorial Day Parade
Francestown Elementary School will be participating in the Memorial Day Remembrance Parade on May 22nd. Students will line up at 10:15 a.m. and take part in the ceremony at the Francestown cemetery. Following the presentation, the Patriotic Committee of Francestown will provide small American flags and a special ice cream treat for all participants.
We Need Your Input...
Dear parents,
As part of our commitment to providing the best possible support and resources for students receiving special education services, we invite you to participate in the annual Parent Involvement survey conducted by the New Hampshire Department of Education (NHED).
This brief survey is to gauge the level of parent involvement in our schools and how it contributes to improving services and outcomes for children with special education. The survey window is April 11, 2025 until May 23rd, 2025. All responses are anonymous.
To access the survey, visit this NHDOE website.
Please complete a separate survey for each child receiving special education services in your family. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in your child's education.
News From Ms. Curley
Authors Of Our Own Books
This week students have been working extra hard on their writing skills. During LMR students were able to showcase these skills by writing their very own stories! Students wrote, illustrated, and published their own books.

World Travelers
Last week, we learned all about different cultures around the world and this week we got to travel and take part in the different cultures that we learned about. We started out in France where we got to try macaroons, baguettes, and we tried to build the Eiffel tower using straws and playdoh. We then made our way to China where we learned how to use chopsticks, played China's national sport - table tennis, and learned how to write in Chinese. By Thursday, we were a bit exhausted from the time change, but we travelled to Italy where we got to make our own pizza. Finally, on Friday, we landed in Colombia where we got to play their two most popular sports - Soccer and Sapo (ring toss).

Learning to Budget and Different Points of View
This week Ms. Parisi's class is practicing rehearsing for Greek Mythology plays. We have been working in math to plan a pretend party with a pretend budget.
A Word From Mr. LeGraw
This week in PE, students practiced volleyball using a variety of different implements such as balloons, foam balls, and beach balls to support skill development. We wrapped up the week with some fun stations to keep everyone moving and having fun.
