Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
BHS has been busy as we’ve been wrapping up our last full week with the Class of 2025 while beginning the transition for the Class of 2029! Our seniors are preparing themselves for celebrations and awards ceremonies as we continue to move towards our graduation ceremony on Monday, May 19th. The end of a school year can be full of emotions for young people. Let’s all help them through it, and help them make good decisions as we move into summer.
For our families of students in grades 9-11, we are looking forward to the last day of school on May 22nd! However, we are encouraging them to get all of those last-minute assignments completed and turned in. Our teachers will be focused on completing all of the grades the last week of school as their last day of work for the school year is on May 23rd.
Take note of the “Important Dates” section below. We have set our high school Open House and Schedule Pick Up for August 12th with the first day of school on August 14th.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of the Mother’s and Mother Figures connected to the Batavia High School community! Enjoy this beautiful weekend!
In service to our Bulldogs.

Interested in attending UC? Here is a great opportunity!
UC Futures is a free summer program at University of Cincinnati main campus designed to support high-promise students (current 10th and 11th graders) from rural and small-towns who are unsure about college.
Through this immersive, three-day experience, students will:
Stay on campus & explore the University of Cincinnati
Learn about admissions, scholarships, & career pathways
Connect with UC student mentors from similar backgrounds
Participate in hands-on workshops & leadership training
Experience Cincinnati – including watching the Cincinnati Reds take on the New York Yankees at Great American Ball Park!
We know that many students have the talent and drive to succeed in college, but may lack the confidence to take that next step. UC Futures is designed to bridge that gap - helping students see themselves thriving in a college setting. You can apply at this link: UC Futures Program Application Link. Registration closes May 11th and is limited. Here is the link to the flyer with more information and additional application information. UC Futures Flyer

The FAFSA is STILL Available!!!!
IMPORTANT for ANY student continuing their education after high school!!!!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students entering or attending college for the 2025-26 academic year is up and running! Any student that is thinking about attending any type of education/training after high school should complete the FAFSA - technical school, trade school, community college, public university, or private university. The FAFSA is what determines your eligibility for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships - thus, it is VERY important that you complete and submit it. Keep in mind, all students are at least eligible for student loans! Families who want to start filling out the FAFSA now can start the process at studentaid.gov. If you need assistance, visit itsforyou.org and scroll to the “Looking for FAFSA help?” section for details. Let’s ensure no money is left on the table!
Updated Scholarship List:
Another option to look at opportunities for additional funding for college is by applying for scholarships. BHS Guidance updates this list regularly as new scholarships are shared with us. Here is a link to the most recent list that is shared with all seniors. There are A LOT of new scholarships that have been added!

LINKED UP Connect
We would like for ALL Juniors and Seniors to have accounts with Linked Up Connect as soon as possible. Parents, please sign the Linked Up Connect permission form located in Final Forms. As soon as we have the signature we can begin the process of giving you access to many opportunities such as experienceships, job shadowing, and potential internships and apprenticeship opportunities.
