Warhawk Culture - Thankful
As we head into the Thanksgiving break, we want to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude for each of you. Your ongoing support, partnership, and positivity make all the difference in creating the strong and connected school community we are so proud of at Westerville Central.
Thank you for modeling the values of our Warhawk Blueprint each day—Better Together, Pursue Excellence, and Own It. Whether in the classroom, on the field, on the stage, or in the hallways, you continue to show what it means to uplift one another and help make WCHS a place where everyone can learn, grow, and have fun.
I am personally so grateful for the opportunity to serve as the building principal at WCHS. It is an honor to be part of such an amazing, supportive, and spirited community, and I am incredibly proud of the work our students, staff, and families do each and every day.
We are truly thankful for our students, our families, and the spirit you bring to our school. We hope you enjoy a restful, joyful, and safe Thanksgiving break surrounded by those who mean the most.
Happy Thanksgiving, Warhawks!
WINGS UP !

School Clinic
Hello Warhawk Families!
Freshmen Vision/ Hearing Screenings
Parents of freshmen,we will be screening your student in December as required by the Ohio Department of Health. Please remind them to wear their glasses or contacts to school. If your student does not pass, or is unable to complete the vision or hearing screenings for any reason, you will receive a referral letter by email. These screenings do not replace recommended examinations by eye care specialists, audiologists, or your student's primary care provider.
Parents of JUNIORS
Your student will need the REQUIRED Meningitis MCV4 booster before their senior year next fall. Proof of vaccination or a signed exemption form is required by the 15th day of school or your child will be excluded from attendance until one of these are completed. Meningitis boosters can be given at their annual well visit, a local pharmacy, or the health department. Updated records can be emailed, faxed, uploaded to schoolcare, or a hard copy can be sent in.

COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SENIORS
Every year individuals, organizations, and businesses come together to provide scholarships to our seniors. Please see timeline below:
Week of 11/10: A list of available scholarships will be communicated via email, Schoology and sent out via School Messenger. It will also be in Ms. Sayre's Weekly Family Update the following Sunday.
At this time, students should be identifying the scholarships they qualify for as well as collecting documents needed: digital copy of letters of recommendation (all students will need one), essays, resume, etc.
December 8: The online portal for the application will go live and the link will be communicated via email, Schoology and Ms. Sayre's Weekly Family Update.
Application will close on January 9, 2026 at 3pm.
ALL college-bound students should plan to apply. Scholarships are not just based on GPA. Scholarships also focus on memorials-losing a loved one, community service, sports/activities, careers (engineering, education, etc), elementary and middle schools attended, etc.
Class of 2026 - Honors Diploma Information
Attention Seniors!! Interested in earning an Honors Diploma? Please share your intent to pursue one of the six Honors Diplomas by completing this survey. Complete the intent survey 11:59pm on Monday, November 24th so your school counselor and the WCS College and Career Readiness Office can provide additional guidance and follow up throughout the school year.
What are Honors Diplomas?
High school students can gain state recognition for exceeding Ohio’s graduation requirements through an honors diploma. To meet honors diploma requirements, students challenge themselves by taking and succeeding at high-level coursework and in real-world experiences.
Warhawk Culture
The Westerville Central High School Hall of Fame honors graduates who have distinguished themselves through excellence, leadership, and service beyond their years at Central. Established to celebrate the enduring impact of our alumni, this recognition reflects the values that define the Warhawk community—Pursue Excellence, Better Together, and Own It.
Candidates must have graduated from Westerville Central High School at least ten years ago and should exemplify these core values through their personal and professional achievements. We seek to honor individuals who have demonstrated exceptional success in their careers, made meaningful contributions to their fields, and positively influenced their communities and society as a whole.
The Hall of Fame program is coordinated by the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee at Westerville Central High School in collaboration with the district’s School/Community Relations Office.
We welcome and encourage nominations for any deserving Westerville Central graduate. Please note that nominators are responsible for ensuring their nominee’s availability to attend the Hall of Fame induction ceremony and luncheon on Friday, April 17, 2026.
NOMINATION DEADLINE: January 31, 2026
