Coding Club
The WSR Club is an after-school program designed to engage students in grades 2-5 with
hands-on STEM disciplines. Over two four-week sessions, students will be introduced to
foundational concepts in robotics, engineering, and computer science. The club aims to foster
problem-solving skills, creativity, and a collaborative spirit in a fun, educational environment. We are able to accommodate 10 students per class to ensure personalized instruction. Students must commit to attending all 4 sessions.
Session 1: Introduction to Coding & AI Principles
- Grades 4-5: Wednesdays (September 24, October 1, 8, 15) from 3:10 - 4:10.
- Grades 2-3: Thursdays (September 25, and October 2, 9, 16) from 3:10 - 4:10
- Focus: Students will be introduced to fundamental programming concepts using Python. This session will provide the groundwork for understanding how code is used to control technology.
Session 2: Robotics and Engineering
- Grades 2-3: Wednesdays (January 7, 14, 21, and 28) from 3:10 - 4:10
- Focus for grades 2-3 (LEGO WeDo Robotics): Students will complete 3-4 engineering builds and program their creations to perform automated tasks, applying concepts learned in the first session.
- Grades 4-5: Thursdays (January 8, 15, 22, and 29) from 3:10 - 4:10
- Grades 4-5 (LEGO EV3 Robotics): Students will complete 1-2 advanced builds and participate in competitive challenges with their robots, focusing on advanced robotics and problem-solving.
Student Showcase: At the conclusion of each session, a student showcase will be held where
parents are invited to observe their children's projects. Each student will receive a certificate of
completion to celebrate their accomplishments.
If you are interested in attending session 1 and continuing with session 2, please sign up here.
Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon at First St and Copper Canyon
The City of Prosper has been working hard to find ways to make the area around Windsong safer for our students during arrival and dismissal. A Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon will be installed at First St. and Copper Canyon between 9/15 and 11/28/25. More information about what a PHB is and how it works can be found here.

π Windsong Ranch Elementary's 2025-2026 Strategic Priorities
Together We Empower
Together we empower all Windsong Ranch Elementary staff to be leaders, by providing growth opportunities and professional development to help every staff member reach their full potential.
HR shines a spotlight on our dedicated mentor teachers! Each month, mentors like Ms. Womer, dedicate time to support their first or second year mentees, helping them grow and thrive as educators.
Together We Cultivate
Together we cultivate meaningful connections across our growing school community.
We loved having the RHS soccer team opening car doors at Windsong this week! It's always fun to have the "big kids" give high fives and fist bumps to start the day!
Together We Champion
Together we champion every studentβs path to excellence through consistent use of the Workshop Model to strengthen Tier 1 instruction, drive growth, and build future-ready learners.
One way we grow our learners is by encouraging student discourse by giving students time to discuss, share ideas, and explain their thinking. Using academic vocabulary in these conversations helps deepen understanding and build strong communication skills.
Together We Prosper
Together we prosper by actively involving our Windsong Ranch Elementary families as partners in education while also fostering a senses of Prosper Pride that unites our entire school community.
The fabulous WRE PTO spent time with our staff this week to ensure everyone is ready for the upcoming Windsong Stampede fundraiser!
