Faithful Foundations
November 2025
Thank You
Dear FFPK Family,
As the crisp air and golden leaves remind us that November is here, our hearts turn toward gratitude once again. This season always makes me pause and reflect on the many blessings that fill our classrooms and hallways — the laughter of children, the dedication of our teachers, and the wonderful families who make Faithful Foundations such a special place.
We’re so thankful for your continued partnership and support, from your encouragement during our fall fundraiser to your enthusiasm for our new Healthy Snack Initiative. Your involvement and generosity make such a difference in building healthy habits and a caring school community.
I also want to extend my deepest appreciation to our incredible staff and to the members of Clackamas Valley Baptist Church for their ongoing support of our school and students.
As we move through this season of thankfulness, I hope you find moments to slow down, give thanks, and enjoy the simple joys that make this time of year so meaningful. As always, thank you for the privilege of teaching your children — it is truly a joy to be part of their growth and learning each day. Together, we’re making this a year to remember!
With heartfelt gratitude,
Stephanie & Tim

🎩 Hat Day is Coming!
Get ready to show off your favorite hat! We’re celebrating Hat Day as part of our learning about the letter “H” — and it’s always a student favorite! Whether it’s a cowboy hat, baseball cap, beanie, or something silly and fun, we can’t wait to see everyone’s creative choices.
Hat Day Schedule:
Monday/Wednesday Classes: November 5th
Tuesday/Thursday & Kindergarten: November 6th
It’s a great way for our students to have a little fun while reinforcing their letter recognition and classroom learning!
🇺🇸 Veterans Day – No School Tuesday, November 11
Take a moment today to honor and remember all the brave men and women who have served our country.
The photo featured shows members of Tim’s family, including (L–R) cousins Brent Dittenber (U.S. Army), Mike Dittenber (U.S. Marine Corps), Uncle Richard Whitten (U.S. Army), and Grandfather Paul Whitten (U.S. Army)— a reminder of the courage and sacrifice shown by so many.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all veterans and active-duty service members for their dedication and service.
📸 Picture Day Update
Most families placed their photo orders during Picture Day, but Jennifer from Velocity Shots wanted to share that you can continue ordering additional photos anytime throughout the year using the link below.

Sight Words:
We have already started sight word rings. Please return the rings to school at the beginning of each week; they will be sent home again on weekends for practice.
Letters & Sounds:
We're so proud of our Kindergarteners for their hard work! Many students have already mastered their letter recognition and sounds. We'll keep reinforcing these skills through phonics games, writing activities, and daily practice. Flashcards that were sent home can remain at home for additional practice.
Reading:
It is strongly encouraged that you read with your child 15–20 minutes each night. Point out sight words such as the and is while reading together to help reinforce recognition.
Monthly Bible Verse:
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story." (Psalm 107:1-2)
At-Home Support:
📺 YouTube (search: Abeka phonetic sounds and letters) for reinforcement videos
🧩 Teach Your Monster to Read (Separate newsletter for info)
Reminder:
As a half-day program, it is imperative to reinforce the learning from school at home to help your child succeed.
👾 Teach Your Monster to Read – Kindergarten
Teach Your Monster to Read is an award-winning learning game that helps children master the early stages of reading and numeracy. Created in collaboration with leading educators, the program uses fun monsters, colorful design, and engaging storytelling to make learning an adventure!
Each Kindergarten student received an individual login letter. Once you’ve created your parent account, you can link your child’s classroom code to begin playing.
💻 Access Information:
Free to play on a PC or laptop.
The mobile app version (for phones or iPads) requires a small purchase.
Teach Your Monster is a non-profit organization, offering its computer version at no cost.
This program is optional, but highly encouraged! While not part of our regular Abeka curriculum, it’s a fun and interactive way to reinforce classroom skills at home. Students who practice regularly tend to progress even faster in reading and phonics.
As a half-day program, continuing to practice learning skills at home makes a big difference — especially during school breaks.
Your child’s teacher can view their progress and provide extra support in areas where they may need a little more practice — making it a great supplement to our half-day Kindergarten program.

We’re excited to announce that our Preschool Prep Program will be returning on January 12th, 2026!
This program is perfect for children who just turned 3 or weren’t quite ready for preschool in the fall. Class size is limited to 8 students, meeting Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
Our Preschool Prep class helps little ones learn the basics of classroom life — listening to a teacher, following directions, completing teacher-led papers, and enjoying songs and stories together.
We’ll be using the Abeka curriculum, focusing on early learning foundations such as letters and numbers.
Children must be at least 36 months old and fully potty trained while in our care.
Registration is now LIVE!
Visit faithfulfoundations.org and enroll under Preschool Prep.

Operation Christmas Child
Do you want to help make a difference this holiday season? Faithful Foundations & Clackamas Valley Baptist Church are partnering once again with Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse that delivers gift-filled shoeboxes to children in need all around the world. Each box is a tangible expression of love and hope—showing children that they are remembered and cared for.
We’re inviting families to join us by packing a shoebox with small gifts such as toys, school supplies, hygiene items, or other thoughtful treasures. This is a wonderful way to involve your children in giving and remind them of the true meaning of the season.
📦 How to Participate:
Bring your completed shoebox to school by November 24th, and we’ll ensure it’s delivered to the drop-off location. You can get a free shoebox to fill on the front table.
