Olympia Weekly
Week of May 11th
From Principal George
Sorry with all the changes I fell behind with our newsletter. Please check below to learn about our leadership transition, registration dates, upcoming campus events, and catch up with some of the amazing student celebrations.
The past six years at Olympia have been nothing short of transformative. While it is difficult to say goodbye, I am writing to share that this will be my final year here, as I have been asked to lead another school within our district.
Olympia will always hold a special place in my heart. This community welcomed me with open arms, and together, we turned a vision into reality by establishing the Fine Arts Academy. I am incredibly proud of how we’ve created a space where students can explore their passions and grow—not just academically, but socio-emotionally as well.
I depart knowing Olympia is in a position of strength. I am leaving you in the hands of a dedicated staff and a vibrant community that I know will continue to flourish. With that, I am pleased to introduce Kari Savage-Egg. Please welcome her with the same kindness and spirit you showed me six years ago. I look forward to seeing the great things you will continue to accomplish together. Below, you will find an introduction from Kari
An Introduction from Kari Savage-Egg, Principal of Olympia for 2026-2027
Hello Fine Arts Academy at Olympia Family,
My name is Kari Savage-Egg, and I am truly honored and excited to introduce myself as the new principal of the Fine Arts Academy at Olympia for the 2026-2027 school year. Joining this incredible school is a privilege, and I am eager to begin this journey alongside our students, families, and staff.
I am a proud native Texan, born and raised right here in San Antonio. I graduated from James Madison High School and continued my education at Texas Tech University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Education. I later obtained my master’s degree from The University of Texas at San Antonio. I have dedicated over 20 years to the Judson Independent School District, and I am deeply committed to serving this community that I call home.
Family is at the heart of everything I do. I am the proud parent of two amazing boys and one wonderful daughter who keep me busy and brings so much joy to my life. I cherish every moment we spend together, especially traveling and creating lasting memories as a family.
I am thrilled to be part of the Fine Arts Academy at Olympia as we continue to grow this school together. I promise to dedicate myself to the positive growth of every student—academically, socially, and emotionally—while helping to develop tomorrow’s leaders. My goal is to ensure all students receive a successful education in a safe, supportive, and inspiring learning environment.
I am also committed to continuing and strengthening our core values:
· Be Respectful
· Be Responsible
· Be Restorative
Together, we will build a strong, vibrant school community where every student can thrive.
Please feel free to reach out at any time. I look forward to meeting and partnering with you!

Music Memory Competition
On Thursday, May 7. 2026, third, fourth, and fifth grade students from across Judson ISD Participated in the annual Elementary Music Memory Contest. Students listen to musical selections and must write down the composer, major work it comes from, and the selection title. After tests were completed, collected, and scored, the third-grade team from The Fine Arts Academy at Olympia placed third among very stiff competition across the district.
Congratulations to Lyndon Cooper, Lena Kloefkorn, Johnny Ricketts and Archer Sittenauer for representing Olympia on the 3rd grade team.
When a test is scored, everything is looked at; therefore, a perfect paper is very difficult to receive, no mistakes. Olympia had 2 perfect papers this year: third grader, Johnny Ricketts and fourth grader, Jacob Jeffries. Jacob Jeffries received a perfect paper in 3rd grade as well. Congratulations to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade music memory team members from The Fine Arts Academy at Olympia. Restorative Practices & Social Emotional Learning
Counselor Corner
Do you know anyone that might want to share their career with our students? At our Career Day, our emcees tell students about your career while you strut your stuff on our "runway." If you know anyone whose career should be shared with our students, please email Mrs. Hadas at ahadas@judsonisd.org.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and we want to share this important information with students and families. The Student and Family Support Services Department is hosting the last Table Talk of the year. High school students can earn attendance recovery hours for attending.
Learning in Classroom Circles
May 4th-EOY Telling the Truth
If you would like to reinforce the lessons on Telling the Truth we recommend 4 popular kids books that could lead to great discussions. These could also probably be found on utube as well The berenstain bears and the bad habit by The Berenstain bears and the Trush by Berenstain, The dog who cried "Woof" by Barkly, Sam tells stories by Robberecht, and Sarah's little ghosts by Robberecht. Some Sample Qs: Does everyone in this story tell the truth? What happened because he/she didn't tell the truth? We tell the truth because it is the right thing to do
The Goal: When you tell the truth people trust you. When an adult gives you a direction, he or she needs to know you can be trusted to do the right thing.
Summary: Always tell the Truth
