At Legacy, we are proud to offer a full and exciting schedule of social events for our students. Our goal is to create frequent opportunities for connection, fun, and positive school experiences that help students build friendships and feel a strong sense of belonging at Legacy. We can not do this without our generous parents and staff. We have many families that have surpassed their 40 hours of volunteer time.

We’d like to recognize those who have contributed the highest number of volunteer hours so far this year. Your dedication helps make our programs and events possible. If you haven’t had the opportunity to volunteer yet, it is never too late. Many opportunities are available throughout the year. Your generosity of time and donations truly strengthen our school.

Board elections are coming up in April and we invite you to consider running for a PTCO board position. Serving on the board is a great way to support students and staff and help shape school events. No experience needed, just a willingness to help our school. These events provide meaningful opportunities for students to connect beyond the classroom and strengthen our school community.

If you are interested in running please submit your bio to ptco@legacyk8.org and attend the March 3rd PTCO meeting at 5:30-6:30pm in the science lab.

Monday: College Shirt or Vocational Attire “Oh the Places You Will Go”

Tuesday: Twins Day “Thing 1 and Thing 2”

Wednesday: Mismatched/backwards shirts “Wacky Wednesday”

Thursday: Stripes Day “Cat in the Hat”

Friday: Favorite Seuss Character and DEAR (Drop everything and read)

Reminder: Dress of choice or themed days are an opportunity for students to express their style while continuing to follow our schools dress of choice guidelines. All clothing should be appropriate for a school setting and support a safe, respectful learning environment.

As we approach Dr. Seuss Week, we look forward to celebrating the joy of reading and creativity of his stories. Students may celebrate Dr. Seuss Week by participating in our themed dress days that week. His text supports critical thinking, creative expression, and literacy development such as rhyming, phonemic awareness, vocabulary and comprehension skills.

DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) on Friday, March 6th is a dedicated time when every student and adult stops what they’re doing to read. Students may bring a favorite book and a small flashlight from home. Teachers will also have book options in their classrooms. This shared experience promotes literacy, encourages a love of books, and reinforces the importance of reading.
