Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year!

Dear Middle School Families,

Welcome to Lower Moreland Middle School! We are excited to welcome both our returning students and those who are new to our school community.

This year, our school theme is “Level Up.” Middle school is a time when students step up to new challenges, cultivate their unique strengths, and build the confidence to reach higher goals. We are excited to embark on a year of meaningful progress and continuous growth.

Ambassadors Welcome Families at LMMS Back to School Night

Grade 8 student ambassadors helped families navigate the school on Back to School Night. Thank you, students! And, thank you to our families who came out to meet their child's teachers!

LMMS Picture Day - Tomorrow, Sept. 9

The LMMS Fall Picture Day is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9th. All students were given picture order forms on Thursday, September 3rd in their Social Studies classrooms. Families paying by check should send that check in with the picture order form on Wednesday. You may also complete the order online. Please click HERE for information about ordering online. Please be aware that all students will be photographed for our school records whether or not they are purchasing photos.

FirstView Bus App for Families

Lower Moreland Township School District has partnered with FirstView which is an app for parents that allows for direct access to the status of your child’s bus. FirstView GPS tracks the bus on a map and allows you to set up a customizable geo-fence around your pick-up/drop-off location, so you can be alerted when the bus is close. You can customize your notifications on the app.

This is a free app for parents that can be downloaded from Google Play or the Apple App Store. Here are the instructions for getting started with the app: FirstView Bus App. The instruction sheet has the district code and a list of the bus routes that are needed to register. Using this app is optional. The district will continue to send Connect Ed notifications about the status of bus changes or significant delays.

LMMS Fall Sports Information

Please see below for tryout/coaching info for all fall sports. Coaches will be distributing practice/game schedules once teams are formed.

Football

Football will begin heat acclimatization on August 31st from 2:45-4:30 PM. Practice will occur at the practice Football field.

Cross Country

Coach: TBD

Cross Country will begin practice on September 14th from 3:00-4:30 PM. The location is TBD.

Field Hockey

Field Hockey tryouts will take place on September 8th, 9th, and 10th from 3:00-4:30 PM.

Girls Soccer

Coach: Matt Crouch (mcrouch@lmtsd.org)

Girls Soccer tryouts will begin on September 15th from 3:00-4:45 PM.

Boys Soccer

Coach: Alex Lean (alean@lmtsd.org)

Boys Soccer tryouts will take place on September 8th, 9th, and 10th from 3:00-4:30.

Health History Update Needed for School Nurse

Annual Technology Fee Due for All Students

If you have not paid your annual Technology Fee, please pay this as soon as possible. This fee can be paid online through your Myschoolbucks account. We can also take cash or checks made out to Lower Moreland Township School District. Click HERE for information about this fee.

If you child needs a Chromebook charger, please send in $25.00 to the Tech Center to purchase one. You need to purchase this through the school and not through an outside vendor. Chromebooks need to come to school charged every day. Thank you!

Parent/Guardian Information about Canvas

Our teachers are using Canvas, which is our learning management system. Parents and guardians can be added as observers to your child's account.

An observer can view and read announcements, view the calendar, and view assignment due dates. If you want to read more about the observer role, click HERE. There are instructions for how to become an observer on your child's account. Parents/guardians can be paired with more than one account if you have multiple students.
