What We’re Learning
9/11 - 25th Anniversary
The 5th grade students took time to learn about the events of September 11, 2001, and the impact they had on our country and community. As part of the lesson, Mrs. Monte shared a personal story about her uncle, Roko Camaj, who worked as a window washer at the World Trade Center. She shared that a children’s book had been written about him and his work at the World Trade Center before the tragic events of 9/11. This personal connection gave students a meaningful opportunity to learn about history through the story of someone who was personally connected to the World Trade Center.
Math fun:
Mr. Weiss’s 6th grade class practiced adding, subtracting, and multiplying decimals through a fun and engaging real-world activity. Students took a trip to the classroom grocery store, where they used their math skills to plan a party for their friends. They calculated prices, compared items, and worked with decimals while making decisions about what to purchase. It was a fun way to connect math skills to everyday life!
Our 8th graders had the opportunity to welcome representatives from Bergen County Technical Schools to Lincoln School! They learned about the variety of programs and opportunities available to them as they begin thinking about their high school journey and future careers.
On September 15th, Lincoln School kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month with an exciting performance from Young Audiences – Salsa to Samba! Our students enjoyed an engaging celebration of music, dance, and culture while learning about the rich traditions and diverse cultures of Latin America. Thank you to Young Audiences for bringing so much energy and joy to our school!
