Marvelous May
At NRESC at The Children’s Center at The Phoenix, we are incredibly grateful for the dedication, compassion, and commitment shown by both our teachers and nurses each and every day. Together, they create a supportive, nurturing, and safe environment where our students can learn, grow, and thrive. The collaboration between our educational and nursing teams is truly special. Their hard work, teamwork, and unwavering care make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and families every day.
May the 4th Be With You
Happy Mother's Day
Happy Mother’s Day to all of our incredible staff, parents, and mother figures who nurture, support, and care for our students and community each day. On Mother's Day we celebrate not only mothers, but also grandmothers, guardians, foster parents, aunts, mentors, staff, and all those who step into loving, supportive roles. Your patience, strength, and kindness make a lasting difference in the lives of children and those around you. Wishing you a day filled with appreciation, joy, and recognition for all that you do.
Caring For Our Earth
On Earth Day, students engaged in a variety of hands-on activities designed to deepen their understanding of caring for the environment and protecting natural resources. Lessons focused on the importance of sustainability, reducing waste, and making environmentally responsible choices in daily life. Students participated in mock recycling sorting activities where they practiced identifying and categorizing items into paper, plastic, metal, and trash bins, helping them build real-world recycling skills. Through discussions, interactive tasks, and collaborative learning, students explored how their actions can positively impact the planet and contribute to a healthier environment
On Arbor Day, students participated in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences centered around trees and the importance of environmental stewardship. Lessons highlighted how trees support ecosystems by providing oxygen, shade, and habitats for wildlife, while also helping to improve air quality. Students engaged in activities such as tree identification, discussions about how trees grow, and art projects celebrating nature. Many classes also took part in planting or caring for trees and plants, reinforcing the idea that small actions can have a lasting impact on the environment. Through these experiences, students developed a deeper appreciation for nature and their role in protecting it
Cinco de Mayo
Phoenix students and staff used this holiday to recognize and appreciate Mexican heritage, traditions, and contributions to culture with music, art, food, and educational activities that highlight Mexican history and customs, helping students build cultural awareness and respect for diversity.
