Dear 8th Grade Families,

Updated Information

February is here and that means it is time to start thinking about your student transitioning to high school! It is hard to believe that our middle school promotion ceremony is approaching! It is time to start preparing them for their next chapter as high school students! We want you and your student to feel both prepared and advised on the steps to take for their high school registration process.

Enrollment and Registration Information:

If your family resides in the Conway School District, your student may enroll in any high school. However, if your student attends Conway through a choice transfer, you must follow your home district's registration process to enroll in their high school or submit a choice transfer request to attend a school outside your home district boundaries.

Transportation:

The Mount Vernon School District is the only district that offers transportation for Conway residents. Other surrounding districts do not provide transportation for Conway residents or choice transfer students. If you are considering La Conner High School, please contact their transportation office to check if a bus stop is available on or near Fir Island.

This information will help you decide how to register for high school.

Please remember that while we may assist families with understanding the registration process, we do not register students for high school.

We are working with local school districts to inform families about the registration process. When possible, district representatives will visit Conway to speak with students. Currently, Mount Vernon is scheduled to be on campus on March 19th to share information. Families will be notified as additional opportunities become available.

Please explore the district registration websites linked below with your student to find information on family information nights and the registration process. If you are requesting a choice transfer, note that some districts may have limits on the number of out-of-district students they can accept. Registering late may also limit your student's class options.

Please note there is a Stanwood High School information night Tuesday the 11th.
