Harrington Happenings

December 2

HarringtonHappeningsDecember 2

Dear Harrington Families, Dear Harrington Families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful break, and if you celebrate Thanksgiving you all gained a few pounds (lol).. Here at Harrington, November was a productive month filled with strong instruction, positive community engagement, and meaningful opportunities for students to grow. Classrooms remained focused and steady despite the short weeks, and staff continued to implement high-quality learning experiences across all grade levels.

We also held several important events, including our Veterans Day assembly, family conferences, and a successful long-distance evacuation drill. Students demonstrated maturity and cooperation throughout each experience, and staff preparation was evident.

Highlights from November

  • Strong student participation in Veterans Day learning and schoolwide recognition activities. Our assembly had over 50 Veterans in attendance.
  • Positive and well-attended fall conferences
  • Smooth execution of our evacuation drill
  • Grades 1 and 4 Macy's Day Parade

  • Classroom routines that remained grounded and consistent leading into the holiday break

Looking Ahead to December
December is a short but important month of learning. Our goal is to maintain stability, strong instructional focus, and consistent routines as we move toward the winter break. Teachers will continue to reinforce expectations and maximize learning time during this period of excitement and transition.

  • Key areas of focus for December:
  • Continued emphasis on academic progress and mid-year benchmarks
  • Maintaining predictable routines to support student success
  • Classroom celebrations that are simple, inclusive, and aligned with our school guidelines
  • Supporting students through the social-emotional demands of the season

Reminders

  • Please ensure timely arrival each morning; instructional time begins promptly.
  • Weather can shift quickly—students should come prepared with proper outdoor clothing.
  • Communication between home and school remains essential; reach out with any questions or concerns.

As we enter the winter season, ensure your student(s) have the appropriate winter gear for recess. If you have extra snow pants hats and gloves that can be kept at school, it does ease the process so we can ensure students don't have to carry them with them each day. It is important to know that if students are not dressed appropriately and safely for recess, they will be kept inside in the office during recess.

We appreciate the partnership and support of our families as we work together to ensure a strong and steady close to 2025.

Together, we make a powerful team!

Thank you again for your partnership. Let’s keep the momentum going!

Warm regards,

Rob and Karen

The transition and implementation to DashPass has gone relatively well. As expected there are still some bugs with the system. Please remember, if you did not receive the sign up link from DashPass, that means you are not the guardian driver in the districts system. The guardian driver will need to send you the and you will need to sign up as an authorized driver.

If you have any concerns, or issues with the app, please contact support@dashpass.net. The reply time is pretty quick.
