Fox Families,
We are thankful for you all and for helping us celebrate our community and literacy this past month. We loved seeing all of our families at our 4th Annual Literacy night and learning all sorts of games and activities to do at home. As a staff we enjoyed celebrating the 67th day of school and all the laughter and joy this day brought our kids. We also had an incredibly special day to celebrate the Veteran heroes in our community.
This year we have been utilizing the learning our staff did this summer with Capturing Kids Hearts. We are so excited to share our mid year data around behavior referrals and attendance. Our staff and students are working extra hard to build a sense of belonging and to make sure that everyone feels welcome at Fox Hollow. We believe that when our students feel like they belong their attendance goes up and the behaviors go down. We are excited to share that is exactly what is happening this year at Fox!
We couldn't do this without you. Thank you again!
We have enjoyed getting to know each child and seeing the JOY each child brings to our school, and we look forward to a month of cheer and excitement!

Fox Families and Community,
Winter Reminders: By: Erin Rybacki
Hello parents! Winter is coming and fast! Please remember to send your child to school with a coat, hat or ear muffs and gloves. Each grade will go outside at least once or twice a day. Only if necessary will students stay in for breaks and recess. If it is 20 degrees or above, most grades will go outside. We will not go outside if it is snowing or raining. If in the situation that your child comes home without some of their winter wear, please go and check the lost and found. This can be done when you pick up your child from school (your child might forget to check, so that's why you can look too!). It does get very cold so please on frosty winter days, pack the necessary winter wear for their safety.

Book Recommendations
By:Colie Archer
Is your kid looking for a book to read? Look no further. Some amazing books for a kindergartener or first grader are: The Bad Seed, The Cool Bean, First Grade Here I Come, The Name Jar, and I Stink. If you have a second or third grader, some fantastic books for them are: the Magic Tree House series, Whatever After, Wild Robot, Rosie Revere Engineer, and Eerie Elementary. And last but not least, fourth and fifth graders. I am a fourth grader and here are some series I have read: Baby Sitters Club graphic novels and Cupcake Diaries. Some other fun and interesting books are, Wonder, The One And Only Ivan, The One And Only Bob, and the Harry Potter series. Those are my best book recommendations! Also, a book series for all second through fifth graders that they will love is Dog Man.
Thank you for reading!!
PENGUIN PATCH Dec. 17!
Fox Families: The 5th Grade Penguin Patch is returning Wednesday, December 17th for a one-day, cash only holiday shopping event! Please click the link for more details!
Spirit Week: Dec. 15-19
Are you in need in food supports?
Food For Friends supplies nutritious food for our own Fox Hollow families and those among our CCSD community who may otherwise not have access to a balanced meal. If your family is in need, a bag is discreetly placed in your child’s backpack on Fridays (or the last school day of the week) for them to take home. We are very diligent in the fact that no one knows if we are sending food home. We can also schedule a time for an adult to pick up the bag of food on Friday. Please scan the QR code or click the link if your family is in need.

Affirmations for our staff
Thank you to all that have already affirmed a staff memeber.
They are LOVING the surprise!
Check out some fun moments around the building...
This month we celebrated the 67th day of school, Literacy night, STEM lessons in the classroom and enjoying the extra warm fall outside!
Veterans Day Celebrations!
FROM CCSD:
CCSD has created a new budget video that details our current state.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oj9-3PyMPoQ
Talking Points:
- This video is meant to share up-to-date information about our current budget and how various factors, including state and federal funding, affect our financial outlook. We believe it’s important to share these updates with our community in an effort to be transparent and accountable to our taxpayers.
- CCSD is not alone in facing a challenging budget situation. School districts and cities and counties across the state are facing budget challenges. The state continues to be in a structural deficit of at least $800 million.
- We appreciate the support of our community in the November 2024 mill and bond. An important reminder, money from the bond can only be used on capital construction projects.
- We must continue to be prudent and efficient with our resources while making strategic investments in our people and programs.
At Home Literacy Ideas...
PE Update
Hello! Our 1st – 5th Grade P.E. classes continue to do a variety of skills and sports. As always, as you have conversations with your children, they can tell you what they have covered. All students have now completed hockey. Our next unit (that some have started) is lacrosse! We spent time discussing the similarities between hockey and lacrosse first and are now working on lacrosse skills. Hand eye coordination is our biggest focus in all grades!
Kindergarten students are still playing a variety of tag games! These games work on spatial awareness, kindness, cooperation, strategy, and aerobic activity! All students have played Knights and Dragons and we are moving on to SpongeBob Tag! Who knew so many kids wanted to be SpongeBob! 😊
Just a friendly reminder that we will have Field Day in May. Mark your calendars for Thursday, May 7, 2026! This fun-filled day is a student favorite and we LOVE to have lots of parent volunteers for it! There will be more information about this in 2026!
Thank you!

Music Updates...
We are close to wrapping up the calendar year in the Music Room!
In the last month or so, students have all had an opportunity to learn a folk dance, even Kindergarten! Ask your students what they remember. They are one of my favorite things to teach and they often end up being some of the students’ favorite activities as well. I’m happy to share music tracks if you want to do them at home!
Shout out to the Choir Club! They sang at the very beginning of the Literacy Night, in the gym, and did a fantastic job. We will be opening up Choir Club to new (and returning) members starting in January. Be on the lookout for a new sign up. Last year in the Spring the Choir Club joined several other CCSD schools to sing the National Anthem at a Rockies game! I’m planning on returning to that, should all the details work out!
In addition, we will be starting recorder units for 3rd and 4th grade starting in February. I’ll be asking families to provide a recorder for their 3rd or 4th grade student at that point. Please contact me if there are any questions about this.

Art Update
Dear Fox Families,
Thank you for your continued support of the Arts at Fox Hollow, the Art to Remember fundraiser has closed. You are still welcome to login and participate (the link is listed below), items can be shipped directly to your home. I am so thankful for your participation; I will be utilizing the fundraising money toward paint and clay material purchases.
It has been such a wonderful year! All grade levels are working on a variety of projects: drawing, painting, and collage. We are having fun exploring with the messy materials! The next unit that will carry us into January is our CLAY PROJECTS!!! Make sure to ask your students about this fun experience!
It has been such a pleasure to teach art to your student(s) this year and I hope they continue to enjoy creating!! The art projects will be coming home toward the end of the year in a portfolio of work.
ART CLUB Info:
-Fall Art Club ends the week of December 8th, 2025.
-Spring Art Club sign ups will come out in mid-January
Art to remember…Late orders are still available

STEM Update
Students will continue with the Lego Derby through December. Students will design cars out of legos to meet different categories ie; fastest, slowest. They will race their cars down a track and using the design process, make changes to improve. Even if your child’s grade does not come to STEM class this year, I will try to schedule a time over the next few weeks, for them to enjoy this activity.

School Breakfast:
Parents, if your child will be joining us in the mornings for breakfast, please know we open the doors at 7:40 am. We allow all kids in for breakfast at 7:40 so they can have plenty of time too eat. Please send them to the front doors and tell them to ring the doorbell and tell us they are here for breakfast. If they arrive early, we do not let them into the cafe until 7:40. We have had many kids come in after 7:50 for breakfast and then end up being tardy to class. Also, if your child rides the bus and they need breakfast please remind them to go straight to the cafe when they get here. We do send kids to class at 7:55 so they can get to their classroom on time. Thank you for your help!
