Warrior Weekly December 18th
Principal's Message to Families 12/18
Week of February 2-6
What's Happening This Week:
Monday- D Day
Tuesday - A Day
Wednesday - B Day
Thursday - C Day
Friday - D Day
Frigid Temperatures
With extremely cold temperatures expected starting tomorrow, we’d like to emphasize the importance of layering and proper dress to keep students warm; especially those students who will be waiting at bus stops. With temperatures this low, please try to limit exposure as well as keep as much of your student’s skin covered as possible.
Kindness Initiative
We will be officially celebrating Kindness Week in February. In the meantime, the students and staff at Coleman created a kindness tree. Each student made a heart with their name and kind sayings to share.
Cereal Drive Service Learning
We will be collecting unopened boxes of cereal now through February 12th. The students will work to setup a dominoes type line up with the cereal boxes. We will tie the learning to the “The Chain of Caring”. After the assembly, we will donate the cereal to the local food pantry.
-
Each cereal box = one act of kindness
-
When one domino falls, it triggers the next—just like helping one family can inspire more help. One small action can start something big!!
Valentine's Day at Coleman Elementary
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and we’re excited to celebrate while keeping the focus on learning! We WILL celebrate on Friday, February 13th, but please remember—it is still a school day, and students will be engaged in learning activities, many with a fun Valentine’s theme. We will also have a fun Kindness Assembly for all students and staff!
Here are a few important reminders:
- Next Steps & Teacher Communication – You should be receiving details from your child’s teacher regarding their specific classroom plans. If you haven’t heard anything and have concerns, please reach out to them or me.
- Valentine’s Exchange – Students will be allowed to pass out Valentine’s cards during a designated classroom time. Please ensure your child brings one for each classmate to include everyone.
- No Candy Policy – We CANNOT accept valentines with candy attached. However, small, non-food items such as pencils, erasers, stickers, fidgets, or bookmarks, etc. are great alternatives. I am a parent as well and I understand how hard it is to go to the store and find valentines without food/candy of some sort.
Thank you for helping us make this a fun and inclusive celebration while keeping our focus on learning. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out! ❤️
2026-27 Kindergarten Registration
Dear MVR-III Families,
Do you have a child who will be ready for kindergarten in the 2026-27 school year? Kindergarten registration opens Monday, February 2nd.
Because you are an existing family within the district, this will be completed through your Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Watch this IC online registration video for a preview.
If you do not have your Infinite Campus Parent Portal set up, please contact your school building secretary for assistance. You will be provided a KEY, which can be entered on this Infinite Campus-New User webpage to create your account.
To make the process as easy and efficient as possible for families, the district has streamlined registration so you can take care of several important tasks at the same time.
Through a single login in Infinite Campus, you can confirm information for all students in your household, which will complete your:
- required Annual Update,
- register your child for kindergarten (if applicable),
- and enroll K–8 students in 2026 Summer Discovery.
Completing all three tasks at once saves time and eliminates the need to complete separate registrations.
***An email from the district was sent out with exact directions - if you did not receive it but would like me to send it your way please reach out to me or our school office!***
