Hamburg School Sound System Sponsorship
Message from the Hamburg School PTA ...
Dear Friends, Family, and Business,
The Hamburg PTA is a registered 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization in good standing, whose sole purpose is to enhance the educational experience of the students of Hamburg School. We are looking for sponsors like you to help us raise money for the school's sound system. The sound system is used for many events like the school play, Adult Bingo, 8th grade Graduation, Winter and Spring concerts, assemblies and more. Our goal is to raise $7,000. A generous donation like yours will help make this a great success to help us reach our goal. We rely heavily on support from our friends and family in the community, as well as businesses and organizations outside of our immediate area. Having the sound system fixed and updated will benefit so many aspects of the school. Attached is our flyer with all Sponsor Levels of Business's, Friends, and Family. Donations can be made by cash, a check payable to Hamburg PTA, or paid online. Your consideration of our request is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach us via email, hamburgpta@gmail.com. Thank you!!!!

SY 2025-2026 School Calendar
The Unplug Committee met and the following serve as initial guidelines:
- Middle School Student technology - students will use "testing" procedures where staff monitor students putting cell phones in their lockers
- Classroom Procedures - staff will refrain from using Promethean boards, Chromebooks, and any other forms of technology for the day
- Main Office / CST Office / Nurse / Business Office / Cafeteria - will not participate in the National Day of Unplugging due to the nature of their positions
Stations will be set up throughout the school (game station, STEAM activities, sticker wall art, crafts, etc). Classes may circulate throughout the stations during the day. Students may also engage in meditation/yoga activities with their class, or take oa walk outside in the field, explore the wood chipped path or even walk to the tracks in the back field (weather permitting). Note that this day will coordinate with Read Across America week.
Culminating Activity - Students will be asked to reflect on the day in an age appropriate way. What was most appreciated? What was an unexpected benefit? What did students realize? Reflections will be shared with our community.
The Sussex County Miners Professional Baseball Team is thrilled to partner with over forty schools in the region to promote the importance of good reading habits. The Sussex County Miners Reading Club supports professional educators by providing students and their families with a structure to develop and maintain regular reading habits and a fun reward for all who complete the three-week reading incentive. Strong, routine reading habits help children build vocabulary and strengthen comprehension, increase empathy, and develop better writing skills.
Each child who reads an average of 100 minutes per week for three weeks (that is twenty minutes per day outside of school, at least five days per week) will receive two tickets to enjoy a Miners game at Skylands Stadium in Augusta. There will be a special weeknight game in the summer designated to celebrate each school! It will be a fun summer reunion game for students, faculty, and staff! Video highlights of the school year will be featured on the Skylands Stadium video board. Lucky students, faculty, and staff will participate in the Miners’ between-inning games and contests. Also, a student and staff representative from each school will get to throw out the ceremonial first pitch!
To receive your child’s free tickets by email, a parent/guardian must complete the form at the end of this message. If your child participated last year, you will recall paper reading logs. Those logs are no longer required. Each parent who registers will receive a separate digital form at the end of the incentive period to attest that your child met the reading requirements.
The Sussex County Miners are one of eighteen teams to play in the Frontier League, the oldest continually running independent league in the United States and a Major League Baseball Partner League. The Miners play a 96-game schedule from May through August, and their 48 scheduled home games are at Skylands Stadium in Augusta.
If parents/guardians have questions about this program, please email the Miners’ Coordinator of Community Engagement, Scott Davies, at Scott@scminers.com.
Complete this form to register for this free program!

The Wallkill Valley Community Coalition will be hosting a Developmental Asset Night for families on Tuesday, March 18th from 6:00-7:00pm at the Hardyston Middle School in the media center. All families from Franklin, Hardyston, Hamburg, and Ogdensburg are invited to attend; all ages welcome. Dinner (pizza) is included!
The Hamburg School is excited to announce the creation of a comprehensive online resource library designed to support our parent community. This new initiative aims to gather and share a wide range of helpful resources in one convenient space, making it easier for parents to access vital information and services for their families.
To ensure the library includes a variety of useful resources, we are inviting parents to contribute by submitting recommendations through a simple Google Form. The form is designed to collect resources across several key categories, including medical, dental, mental health, counseling, after-school activities, and sports. If you know of any trusted providers, programs, or services in these areas—or any others that might benefit the community—we encourage you to share them!
The Google Form is structured to allow easy and clear submissions. Parents will be asked to categorize the resource they’re recommending and provide essential details such as the name of the resource, contact information, a brief description of what it offers, and any other relevant details, like availability or cost. There’s also space to share personal experiences or ratings, which can help other parents make informed decisions.
In addition to resources in the key areas listed, the form also allows for suggestions of anything else that might benefit families, such as childcare services, tutoring, or community events. This ensures that our library remains flexible and expansive, with something for everyone.
Once collected, the resources will be organized into a user-friendly online directory that parents can easily access. Whether you're looking for a pediatric dentist, a sports league for your child, or a mental health counselor, this resource library will be the go-to place for trusted, community-sourced recommendations.
We hope this initiative will foster a stronger sense of connection and support within the Hamburg School community, helping families navigate the many services and activities available to them. So, if you have a resource to share, please take a moment to fill out the Google Form (multiple submissions are encouraged) and contribute to this valuable project!
