Principal's Perspective from Mr. Lang
Welcome to September Lincoln Families,
Boy have we been lucky with great weather and an easy shift into the fall months. We will be wrapping up our second full week this week and it has been off to a great start! I’m excited to share some highlights from the start, to talk through some upcoming events and to share some reminders as we move into fall. Please keep reading to learn more!
First Few Weeks
These first few weeks of school are always exciting, tiring and sometimes a bit scary. These days are exciting from the stance of getting back to school, seeing friends again and getting to see previous teachers. They can certainly be tiring from getting into routines, working even more mentally and not really getting much of a “break” during the day. Kids (and staff) are “on” all day long and by the end of the day, many of us are tuckered! The first weeks can also be “scary” for our students because they are learning new classroom routines, learning new peer relationships and having to navigate a new learning experience at a new grade level.
With that being said, our Lincoln Leaders and staff have risen to the challenge. They are continuously smiling, high-fiving, giving and getting hugs and complimenting each other. We are building relationships, growing as humans and making Lincoln a great place to be!
2026-27 Year’s Theme
This year, Lincoln’s building theme will be Better Together. One Pack. One Purpose. This mirrors the theme set by Dr. Champa and our district leadership. This was voted on by our staff and we are working again this year to keep making Lincoln a place our students and staff want to be. With our families working alongside us, we will certainly be Better Together.
A Few Reminders…
Drop off and Pick Up
For drop off in the morning, we have supervision starting at 7:45. Prior to that time, even in inclement weather, students will need to remain outside until we have supervision. For pick up at the end of the day, families can expect students to be leaving at 2:40. This is when our bell rings for dismissal. If you have arranged for older siblings to pick up younger siblings, please know they will begin the process of connecting at 2:40. With the hours in our day and all that we put into them, we want to maximize our time together which means not leaving early in the day. If you have questions about pick up or drop off, please feel free to reach out to me.
Elementary Students at District Activities
We would like to remind families that elementary age students should be under the direct supervision of an adult while attending all district events. Unlike our Middle School and High School students, elementary age students do not have a “section” in the stands to sit at the football games. It is required they remain with their family for their safety throughout the event.
Safety and Security At Building Events
As your building principal, my number one priority is the safety of our students and staff. I want to ensure that when you trust us with your pride and joy, that we are caring for them and keeping them safe. This does mean that at times, we take additional precautions. One of which is ensuring those who enter our building are checked in and accounted for at all times.
We have been working on a process the past few years to continue to ensure we have a safe event while making it more efficient to get to the event.. It starts with sending out an RSVP for the event for families to sign up. Once you have signed up, when the day of the event comes, we are prepared to check you in with a driver’s license and we will get you on your way. In the event you haven’t completed the RSVP, then we simply run your driver’s license through our RAPTOR system and it will print a badge for you and we can then send you on your way. If you do not provide a driver’s license, we will not allow you in. We appreciate your support in this process and for working with us to ensure ALL are safe at Lincoln.
I want to continue to thank you for sharing your children with us at Lincoln. We are very fortunate to have an amazing group of Lincoln Leaders, families and staff here at Lincoln! We look forward to the coming days and weeks and pretty soon-Homecoming! Have a great rest of your September!

Elementary Student Handbook
As we begin a new school year, we encourage all families to take a few minutes to review the Elementary Student Handbook together. The handbook contains important information about school policies, daily procedures, attendance, behavior expectations, safety, transportation, and other helpful resources. The changes to the handbook for 2026-2027 are listed on the welcome page. Reviewing these guidelines with your child helps ensure a successful and positive school year for everyone. Thank you for partnering with us to support a respectful, responsible and ready to learn environment at Lincoln!
