Educators Rising Heads To Nationals In Oregon
Educators Rising Club
In 2025-26, the Ed Rising Club continued to work towards our mission of providing experiences and opportunities for students interested in careers in education. A total of 30 students attended two field trips to the Reilly Elementary School, observing and assisting in classrooms. A group of 20 students attended a field trip to the Wang Middle School meeting with teachers and administrators there to hear about their experiences and observe in classrooms. Students also volunteered to provide childcare during several after-school events.
Additionally, 12 students attended the Educators Rising State Conference in Boston on March 4th. These students competed in a variety of contests and competitions with nearly all groups placing in the top 3 of their categories and thus qualifying for the National Conference.
Selena Lozada and Riley Martineau - Varsity 1st Place - Pre-K Book (wrote, illustrated, and read aloud a book for a preschool setting)
Avalee Prater and Genevieve Medina - Varsity 2nd Place - Teacher Created Materials (plan a lesson and the teaching create materials)
Sageily Esteves and Ginnelys Torres - Varsity 1st Place - Interactive Bulletin Board (Build a poster display to be used in a middle school classroom)
Payton Gaspar - Varsity 3rd Place - Educators Rising Moment (speech about the moment they knew teaching was their calling).
Eduardo Lopez - JV 1st Place - Educators Rising Moment (speech about the moment they knew teaching was their calling).
The year will be capped off by a trip to the National Conference in Portland, Oregon - June 20-23, where students will get another chance to compete for national awards.
NHS Graduates 163 Members
NHS 2025-2026
Our chapter of the National Honor Society graduated 163 members on June 3 and elected new officers, closing out a year of exceptional scholarship, leadership, character, and service.
The chapter’s 265 members logged more than 7,600 hours of service throughout the year. Those included fundraisers, several food drives, a middle school pen pal program, neighborhood cleanups, and many other beneficial activities in and around Lowell.
We were named as a Commended Chapter by the state. In addition, NHS President Lilly Ros was named as the Massachusetts Student of the Year.
Next year marks the Centennial of the founding of our NHS chapter, making it one of the oldest in the state. We have some exciting plans to celebrate 100 years, including an initiative we’re calling “Project 100.”
The chapter will accept new junior and senior members next fall. Listen for announcements and watch for applications in September. In 2026-2027, all members will be required to complete 20 hours of community service, pay dues, and participate actively in the special Project 100.

Mock Trial Keeps Cracking Cases
The LHS Mock Trial Team did well this year, competing against teams of student attorneys in a Criminal Case!
In Mock Trial student attorneys conduct simulated court trials in front of actual judges as part of the Mass Bar’s Mock Trial program. Students work with real lawyers from the Greater Lowell community to examine our assigned case, develop legal arguments, learn courtroom procedure, and showcase our skills as the attorneys of tomorrow!
We are always looking for new members for our Team. Mock Trial season runs from September to January/February.
Interested students can feel free to email the Mock Trial Advisor, Ms. Tacito at ctacito@lowell.k12.ma.us or add into the Google Classroom page for next year's Mock Trial (d2ucqptm)

National Art Honor Society Has a Year
National Art Honor Society had a successful year completing school and community projects. Students organized a pen pal program with a 3rd grade class at the STEM school, culminating in an in-person meeting at the STEM this spring. They also visited the Murkland elementary students several times during their afterschool program to teach art lessons, ending with a fun carnival event this spring. NAHS students will continue these partnerships at the STEM and Murkland next school year. Students created murals for the youth section of the Pollard Memorial Library, with the plans to make more next school year. And lastly club members created lots of product, such as bracelets and key chains which they sold during lunches to help support our programs.
The goal of National Art Honor Society is to combine service with art. We accept students in grades 10-12 who have demonstrated excellence in school and who have a desire to use art as a way to contribute positively to the community. We will be recruiting new members starting in September. If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Magnus in room 702 in the FA.
Science League Resurges
Science League saw a huge resurgence this year due to the dedication of a few students. All meets were well attended and we took a few top ten spots throughout the competition season. We participated in Olympiad in March coming in 13th place in Hovercraft, 11th place in Boomilever, and 8th place in Write It/Do It. These are our best placements in years! Students also participated virtually the Lexington Invitational Olympiad over April vacation. We ended up placing in the top ten in 3 events. Last week, the was an interest meeting that had over 20 students show up and engage in model events. This was all planned by the newly elected officers, Victor Nguyen, Ami Ginsberg, Rowda Amin, and Kathryn Belli. Students can look forward to an exciting competition schedule next year. We are hoping to add more events to our calendar as they become available. Please check out our Instagram page at lowellscienceoly.

Club Callout: Join the TV Production Crew!
Did you know the TV Production Club is much more than a classroom meeting? It’s a dedicated, volunteer-driven operation that captures the most exciting live events—from gripping sports matchups to incredible school concerts—wherever they are held. These student volunteers are essential for bringing our school's highlights to the community!
Key Activities and Opportunities
Members of the club participate in a wide variety of production tasks, including:
Live Sports & Event Broadcasting
Film Production
Event Planning and Fundraising
Social Media Content Creation
If students are interested in learning production skills, working behind the scenes, and contributing to the spirit of the school, please contact Anim "The Dream" Osmani via email, aosmani@lowell.k12.ma.us. Community service hours are granted for each event.
Support Our Fundraiser: Investing in Our Crew
The TV Production Club is also hosting a fundraiser to support our hardworking volunteers.
Our goal is $5,000. These funds are vital for providing resources and recognition to the students who dedicate significant personal time to the club—dedication that can sometimes go unrewarded. Your contribution helps us acknowledge and support their long-term commitment.
Every dollar helps us keep the cameras rolling and ensure our incredible student crew members feel appreciated! Be on the lookout for fundraising activities during the school day. You can also donate cash directly to the cause. Reach out to Anim Osmani if you'd like to make a donation!

Pep Club : Igniting School Pride
The Pep Club's goal this year was to elevate school spirit and foster a strong sense of pride across the Lowell High campus. We are so grateful to the student body for bringing their passion and energy to every single event!
This Year’s Highlights
We kept the energy high all year long with some fun events.
Homecoming: We kicked off the year with an amazing Homecoming celebration, setting the tone for the rest of the school year.
The Ultimate Pie-in-the-Face Fundraiser: Who could forget the satisfaction of watching students pie Administration, Campus Safety and Mr. Fiato? Thank you to our brave volunteers for being such great sports for a good cause!
Spirit Weeks & Days: From creative dress-up days to packed hallways, you all showed up and showed out to prove your Red Raider pride.
Themed Sporting Events: We brought the noise and the theme to the stands!
The Duck Hunt: We brought a little mystery and a lot of competition to the hallways this year! Watching students scramble across campus to track down the hidden ducks was one of our favorite highlights. The winning advisory enjoyed some donuts!
Looking Ahead to 2026–2027
We are already planning how to make next year even more packed with LHS spirit. Our biggest goal for the upcoming school year? We are planning to bring a Homecoming Dance to Lowell High!

MediCareer Pushes Forward
MediCareer did lots of fun activities, like Anatomy Jeopardy and having an EMT come in and demonstrate body boarding. HOSA grew out of MediCareer club and spearheaded a fall food drive which was extremely successful and donated to the on-campus food pantry. They also competed in their first state leadership conference, with three students advancing to the international leadership conference! We are looking forward to more opportunities and experiences next year.
STEP TEAM... Steps out Into The Community
