Be Me Preschool Newsletter

It's only October and we are already thinking about the 2026-27 school year! This "Special Edition" Newsletter is being sent to provide you with important information upcoming TK Transition Parent Meetings (virtual and in-person), the School Choice process, enrollment birthdates, school tours, and more. We will continue to share this information throughout the year but for those that want to get a headstart on the process, please see below.

Registration for TK begins on Monday, November 3, 2025 at all CVUSD elementary schools for new students; however, students currently attending and/or receiving services through Be Me Preschool DO NOT have to complete the pre-enrollment process. You will be automatically enrolled at your school of residence. Your child's enrollment will be switched if/when your school choice application is accepted/confirmed and/or pending IEP team recommendations for another school.

Join Us: Transitional Kindergarten Virtual Information Night on Tuesday, October 28th at 6pm

All students who will be four years old by or on September 1, 2026 are eligible to enroll in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) in the CVUSD for the 2026-2027 school year. TK is the first year of a two-year Kindergarten program, where, through hands-on activities, students build connections, experience play-based learning opportunities and are exposed to academic skills that they will master in Kindergarten.

Get prepared for the 2026-2027 school year! Families are invited to our CVUSD TK Virtual Information Night on Tuesday, October 28th at 6pm. Information will be shared about:

• The TK Learning Experience
• Enrollment Processes
• Child care opportunities available on our CVUSD campuses

Families will also have the opportunity to have their questions answered by CVUSD administrators and staff members.

Please join us in the University Center MPR on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 5:00 pm for a parent information meeting about the TK transition process for students attending Be Me Preschool.

Transitional Kindergarten (TK)

Birthdates 9/2/2021 – 9/1/2022 may enroll in TK only

Kindergarten (K)

Birthdates September 1, 2021 or prior

Must be Age 5 by 9/1/2026 (No exceptions)

First Grade

Must be Age 6 by 9/1/2026 (No exceptions)

The majority of CVUSD’s students attend their assigned neighborhood school via the Neighborhood School Enrollment process. For families who would like to enroll their student in a CVUSD school other than their assigned neighborhood school, this may be completed via the School Choice Application process.

A School Choice Application must be submitted if you want your student to attend TK at a school other than your neighborhood school. Applications for school choice will be available here beginning November 3, 2025 and must be submitted online no later than February 2, 2026 at 11:59 pm to be included in the lottery. Parents are encouraged to submit School Choice Application even if their child has an IEP. More information about this process will be shared at the Nov.6th Parent Meeting.

Transition to TK will be here before you know it. Plan ahead and start visiting the district's elementary schools to get to know your school of residence and in anticipation of School Choice applications for the 2026-27 school year.
