Hello Glennwood Families,

What a fantastic energy we have moving through our halls this week! I want to begin by sharing how much I enjoyed seeing so many of you at our PTA Casino Night this past Saturday. It was a thrill to watch our parents "win big" at the game tables and to see such incredible support for our Silent Auction. The evening was a massive success, and we owe a HUGE thank you to our PTA for their incredible time and talent. We simply couldn't create such a vibrant community atmosphere without their dedication. From the bottom of my heart- thank you, PTA, for EVERYTHING you do for us!

The winning streak continues as we look at our School Climate Survey progress! We are currently sitting at an impressive 89% completion. It would be absolutely awesome to cross that 90% finish line as we head toward the March 31st deadline. If you haven't had a chance to share your voice yet, please take a quick moment to help us reach this final goal. Every response ensures our school’s data truly reflects the brilliance of our Glennwood Crew. As an added bonus, I think that would help us secure our #1 ranking in responses among the other schools!

Complete the GaDOE Climate Survey Here

Finally, I want to express my sincere gratitude for your continued commitment to our at-home practice with Freckle and LaLilo. We are excited to see those minutes adding up, and it is even more rewarding to see our Eagles getting sharper and more confident through their dedicated practice. Your partnership at home is a huge part of why our students continue to soar!

Thank you for everything you do to support our school. Let's keep this great momentum going!

In partnership,

Bill Howard

Proud Principal, Glennwood Elementary

Specials Spotlight - What's Happening in the Library?

This week in the Media Center, our K-2 students officially began their journey to becoming tech-savvy typists! While watching tiny fingers navigate a giant keyboard can be a bit like watching a high-stakes puzzle being solved, building these foundational keyboarding skills early is essential. By learning proper hand placement and "home row" basics now, students develop the muscle memory needed to express their ideas fluently without the frustration of the "hunt and peck" method later on.

We’ve had a great start, but like any new skill—from riding a bike to reading—consistent practice at home makes a world of difference. Even 5 to 10 minutes of "typing play" a few times a week helps solidify what we’re learning in class and turns digital literacy into second nature.

Students may access their Typing Club program app via their CSD Launch Pad. This program may be used at both home and school. Students should be able to practice independently. The program includes instructional videos.
