8th Grade Spotlight
This month Oak Grove would like to devote our monthly newsletter to celebrating our 8th grade students. These young men and women will be celebrating graduation in a few weeks and are eagerly awaiting attending Limestone High School. It has been a year of learning, understanding, applying and growing. While I have only had the opportunity to get to know this 8th grade class this school year I can easily say they will not be forgotten. From hallway antics, to lunchroom conversations and experiences in the classroom this graduating class is unique in every way. I am proud to devote this newsletter to our 2024 Graduating Class # AlwaysanEagle

Awesome Field Trip Experience
As the school year and the 8th graders' time at Oak Grove comes to a close, let's take a trip down memory lane in Room 123. This year the 8th graders dived into the Physical Sciences and Chemistry. We began the year learning about the Engineering Design Process and using that process to make weight-bearing paper bridges. We learned about matter, its properties, and how it can change. Cookie dough and hot chocolate anyone? In November some of the eighth grade girls attended Introduce a Girl to STEM at Caterpillar's Proving Ground in Edwards. The eighth graders moved into the second semester and learned about elements, the periodic table, atomic structure, the pH scale, and forces. We were able to watch the solar eclipse at the beginning of April and attend the Clean Water Celebration for Earth Day. Best of luck to our eighth graders as they continue their learning journey in high school.
Congratulations to our 2024 Class
As our 8th-grade students prepare to graduate and embark on the next chapter of their lives, we take a moment to reflect on their incredible journey. From the moment they walked through the doors of Oak Grove, we have had the privilege of watching them grow and develop. As we work on creating their 8th-grade memory video together, I have had the opportunity to see some of their pictures from over the years. It has been a pleasure to reminisce and see how they have grown academically and personally, forming lifelong friendships and discovering new passions. They leave Oak Grove with the knowledge, skills, and memories that will inspire them to achieve great things in the future. We celebrate their achievements and wish them the best as they move on to High School next year.
