No School on Tuesday, September 2nd - Staff Professional Development Day
Mrs. Bebout will be hosting a Tales with Tails event (students reading to dogs/cats) Thursday Sept. 18th from 9:30-11:30am. This event is to offer those students who struggle reading aloud to practice with an animal who won't judge! Develops reading fluency and comfort.
Our district is offering insurance for Chromebooks to cover accidental damage such as broken screens. This is HIGHLY recommended from our Media Specialist, Mrs. Bebout, who sees damaged devices a lot! For more information, visit here. Open enrollment is the month of August, so decide soon!
Snack Shack is now open! Everyday 4:05 - 4:15
This is a student council run snack shack! All proceeds go to student council events and purchases!
Grab a snack or drink after school! Everything is a $1.00.
Cougar Cash
At Walt Clark, we use PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) to recognize and celebrate students for showing We ARE Cougars values: Achieve, Respect, Engage. When students demonstrate these positive behaviors, staff award them Cougar Cash.
Students enter their Cougar Cash into daily drawings to win items from our school store, special privileges, or fun incentives. This helps us build a positive school culture by reinforcing the choices that lead to success in school and beyond.
If you would like to support our PBIS program, we are always grateful for donations of small prizes such as small recess toys, fun school supplies, quiet fidgets, or small gift cards. These items help keep our Cougar Store exciting and motivating for students.
Thank you for partnering with us in celebrating positive choices!
Attention 6th Grade Parents
Sixth grade lunch is late in the school day. Because of this, we are allowing 6th graders to have a small snack the first 5-10 minutes of their 3rd period class. Please send only healthy snacks, that can be eaten quickly, with your student. Fruit, pretzels, cheese sticks, trail mix, granola or protein bars, and beef jerky are all great options. We are not allowing chips of any kind. Anything that resembles candy or is coated in chocolate will not be permitted. This is a great chance to discuss what are and are not healthy snacks with your child.
Thank you, the Sixth Grade Team
Did your student miss picture day on August 28th? No worries!

Welcome to the Walt Clark Robotics Program!
Dear Students and Families,
Welcome to the Robotics Program Club at Walt Clark Middle School! We’re excited to have you
join us as we embark on an incredible journey into the world of robotics and innovation.
Our club participates in the FIRST LEGO League (FLL), a global competition that challenges
students to design, build, and program robots using LEGO Mindstorms. FLL is not just about
robotics; it’s about developing teamwork, problem-solving skills, and creativity while tackling
real-world problems through hands-on projects.
We are going to meet every on Tuesday and Wednesday after school from 4.05 to 5.30 PM.
Our 1st meeting will be held on Wednesday 10th to inform students and families. The
competition is on Saturday, November 15th. It is mandatory for all students to attend all the our
meetings to make sure our team performs well in the competition.
To complete your application, please submit the packet which includes an essay and a
recommendation from a teacher or coach by September 7th. Additionally, please review and
acknowledge the conditions and policies outlined on page 2 of the packet.
We look forward to an exciting and productive season together. Let’s build something amazing!
Best regards,

DEAN'S CORNER
Dean’s Corner
Hello Walt Clark families, students, and community members,
My name is Andrew Green, and I have the privilege of serving as the Dean at Walt Clark Middle School. I have spent the past 12 years working in public education, following five years in private education. I earned my B.A. from Harding University, completed my teaching certification through Seminole State, and later received my M.Ed. from Grand Canyon University. I am currently finishing my Doctorate at GCU as well. I share this with you because I believe it’s important to model lifelong learning,I'm a student too!
Each time I reach out in this space, I hope to highlight a key area of focus for our school community.
This week, I want to emphasize our Cell Phone and Personal Device Policy.
At Walt Clark, we follow the guideline: “Away for the Day.”
This means all personal devices, including cell phones, should be turned off and stored in backpacks or lockers during the school day, unless they are approved for medical purposes by the school nurse. Devices kept in pockets or used during the school day are not permitted.
If students need to contact a parent or guardian, they are always welcome to use the phone in the front office. Likewise, families can reach their child by calling the main office at any time.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us create a focused, respectful, and distraction-free learning environment.
Thank you,Andrew Green, M.Ed
