PINK OUT 2016

JR Wise and Jake Van Horn grab a good seat for the Pink Out pep rally. The pep rally was held on Thursday due to the student holiday on Friday. Both the Volleyball teams and Varsity football teams played at home on Friday.

PSAT next week!

· All sophomores, and all registered juniors will take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 19.

· Students need to arrive as close to 8:00 AM as possible to check in at their testing room.

· The test has the following sections: Reading, Writing & Language, Math (No Calculator), Math (Calculator).

· Sophomores should have received a PSAT Student Guide from their English teacher. Registered Juniors received a PSAT Student Guide when they paid for their test.

Blake Burrows, 9/12

For the past two years Blake has been a member of the varsity baseball team. Blake plays center field for the Kangaroos – a team that reached the Regional Quarterfinals in the 2016 season. Afterwards, Blake was named the District 4-6A Sophomore of the Year. Congrats, Blake!

Jake Beaird, 9/19

A starter for the last 3 years on the Varsity football team, Jake is a defensive end and proudly wears #15 for the Kangaroos. He was honored as Academic All-District team for 2014 and 2015 and was Honorable Mention – All District Team in 2015. Way to go, Jake!

Gracie Ferguson, 9/26

Playing for the varsity Lady Roos basketball team as a starter since her freshman year, Gracie has earned Academic All-District for the past three years and received second team All-District post-season honors last year as a junior. During the summer, she played AAU basketball and was selected the MVP of the Adidas National Shootout in Frisco. So proud of you, Gracie!

Sophomores and Juniors: The Project Opportunity Scholarship is available for WHS students with financial need who are planning to attend Weatherford College. The scholarship provides up to $5,000 for tuition, books, and supplies for two years and is made available by the Project Opportunity Foundation. Students must be sophomores or junior to apply and the deadline for juniors to turn in their application is December 1, 2016. Applications are available in the Counseling Center.
