(Closed Weds/Thurs, August 19-20 from 8:00-11:00 AM for PCS Staff Opening Days)
Did You Miss Registration?
As long as you've completed the online back-to-school registration step in Parent Connect, students can visit the PCHS Main Office next week to pick up a hard copy of their schedule and locker assignment (which will both also be viewable in MiStar starting Monday, August 17). 9th graders can also pick up their new Chromebook. All other steps can be completed via the registration forms linked here (picture order, yearbook order, parking registration, and PTO donation). Picture make-up day is Friday, August 28.

Schedule Change Requests
Here are the types of schedule change requests Counselors will prioritize:
- You have a hole in your schedule
- You have a class on your schedule you've already taken
- You are missing a graduation requirement
- You were placed in the wrong course level (i.e. Honors ELA 9 vs ELA 9, Pre-Calc vs AP Calc)
If you require a schedule change, you can address this in 1 of 2 ways:
- Email your counselor your request and the rationale for it (Last Names A-Le email arobinson@pinckneypirates.org, Last names Lf-Z email nbraun@pinckneypirates.org)
- During the first week of school, visit the Counseling Office during the class period of the class you need changed AFTER attendance has been taken.
The deadline for schedule changes is Friday, August 28 (the last day of the first week of school).
We will do our best to accommodate changes, but we cannot guarantee that students will get exactly what they want. Sometimes there are schedule conflicts. Some classes fill up and will require waiting until next semester or next school year. Thank you for your understanding and for keeping this in mind when communicating with our very dedicated Counseling Office team.
Livingston CTE 2026-2027 Shared Campus Schedule

Reminder: Link Crew Leader Training Days
Our 26-27 Link Crew Leaders have training on Monday and Tuesday, August 17-18 in the Pirate Union from 8am-Noon. We look forward to working with this awesome group of student leaders to prepare to bring our 9th graders into how we do things at PCHS through our Freshman Orientation experience on the first day of school.
PCS Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Statement
At PCS, our priority is to provide a safe, consistent, and effective learning environment for all students. To support this goal, students are not permitted to use personal computers, tablets, or other electronic devices from bell to bell. This expectation aligns with our existing cell phone policy. Instead, each student has access to a school-issued Chromebook, which is equipped with the tools and safeguards necessary to enhance learning and maintain safety.
Our Chromebooks include filtering software that protects students while browsing online and alerts administrators when concerning content is entered. This allows us to respond promptly when safety issues arise. In addition, teachers can manage classroom Chromebooks to monitor engagement and support instruction. When students use personal devices, these important safety and instructional features are unavailable.
We believe this policy will help students stay focused on learning while ensuring that all of our safety measures function as intended. We appreciate your understanding and partnership in upholding this expectation.
Exceptions: In some cases, Michigan Virtual and/or Dual Enrollment courses require personal devices. This is to be addressed on a case-by-case basis with school administration and will only be used during the hour requiring it.
First Day of the 2026-27 School Year
Save the Date!

Electronic Device Policy - What's New?
Some clarifying and refining revisions have been made to our Electronic Device Policy for the 2026–27 school year. These changes are largely intended to improve clarity, align our policy with new state law, and incorporate what we learned through implementation last year.
The revisions include:
- Clarification of “bell to bell”: The policy now explicitly states that our electronic device expectations apply bell to bell. This means that phones are to remain in the classroom caddy and earbuds are to be off and away from the beginning of class through the end of class.
- Addition to “Why This Policy?” — It’s the Law: Michigan has enacted legislation requiring school districts to adopt policies restricting smartphone use during instructional time beginning with the 2026–27 school year. Our policy has been updated to reflect this requirement.
- Refinement of consequences: The language outlining consequences for a fourth or fifth violation has been revised to provide greater clarity and consistency.
As with any policy, implementation provides us with valuable information about what needs to be clarified or refined. The revisions above reflect what we learned through our first year of implementation.
We continue to be proud of how our staff and students have embraced this policy. Last year, we saw a noticeable and positive difference in classroom engagement, student interaction, and the overall learning environment. We appreciate everyone’s continued support!

Please review the end of the school year dates and plan accordingly! With the last week of school coinciding with Memorial Weekend, the traditional timing of some of our Senior events, including graduation, have been adjusted. We are excited to try an evening graduation ceremony! But we also want to be sure you have ample time to prepare and schedule accordingly, especially with this year's commencement falling on a week night.
