This month's classroom lessons will focus on goal setting and growth mindset!

In kindergarten and first grade we will learn about paying attention and tips to help us focus.

In second and third grade we will focus on how we learn something new and how to get good at something.

In fourth and fifth grade we will learn about proper goal setting and customizing our own goals.

This year we will be using the Counseling Program-Second Step. We will be focusing on developing and nurturing in our students 5 major Skills: Listening, Empathy, Emotional Management, Friendship and Problem Solving. Second Step will be a great tool to use with our students as we navigate through this school year.

Start with Hello is a program to promote the inclusion of all students. In your child's guidance lessons this month, we will talk about ways to include everyone. The week of September 18th-22nd, we will celebrate Start with Hello Week! Each day during your child's morning meeting, they will have an activity to promote inclusion.

THEME DAYS:

Monday - Wear Green to "Kick off Start with Hello Week".

Tuesday - Wear a Team Jersey - "We are a Team Day"

Wednesday - Wear bright colors - "Brighten Someone's Day with Hello"

Thursday - Wear Tie Dye! - "Including Others Ties Us Together Day"

Friday - Wear SCS/Kinsner Gear for "We are a Family Day"
