Doc Talk
It’s hard to believe we are at the end of Week 6 of Hexter 5! This means we have officially closed out the first five hexters of the school year, and are now entering the final stretch- just six weeks remaining.
Looking ahead, Hexter 6 will bring new energy and important milestones as we prepare for Senior Brunch, Graduation, Hexter 6 activities, and the transition into Summer. There is a lot to look forward to and a lot to stay focused on.
🎓Celebrating Our Seniors
Before anything else, congratulations to our students who have completed all graduation requirements. In just a few short weeks, you will walk across the stage and celebrate this major accomplishment. We are proud of you for finishing strong.
📵Cell Phone Policy Reminder📵
Our cell phone policy remains in effect:
- No cell phone use during class time.
- Use is permitted before/after school, during passing periods, and at lunch, as long as it does not require immediate adult attention.
This expectation continues to support stronger focus and engagement in the classroom.
📆Attendance Matters Now More Than Ever
As we approach the end of the school year, attendance is critical.
Students who exceed the allotted number of absences risk being placed on a Leave of Absence, which can impact their ability to earn credit. Every day counts, especially now.
With the weather changing, we also want to remind students to dress appropriately for the conditions and come prepared for the day. Being ready helps students stay focused and comfortable throughout the school day.
📝Upcoming Testing: CMAS, SAT & PSAT
We have several important assessments coming up:
- CMAS
- SAT
- PSAT
These tests are an opportunity for students to demonstrate their learning and growth. More detailed schedules will be shared, including adjusted days and early dismissal times due to testing and special events (see the "Upcoming Events" section for more info).
Please make sure students:
- Get proper rest
- Arrive on time
- Take testing seriously
⏰Schedule Updates
Due to upcoming testing and special events, early dismissal days will be built into the schedule. Please be on the lookout for detailed communication with specific dates and times (see "Upcoming Events" section below).
🔥Closing Message
We are in the final stretch! The work done now matters more than ever.
Stay focused. Stay present. Stay committed.
Finish what you started.
We are the Phoenix—now is the time to rise and close strong. 🔥
~Dr. Wiggins
